(wow...we're being so techincal it's hurting my head
Yes i do read stuff, I just dont post unless I feel like it sweatdrop
I view Gaia as a half medival half sci-fi kingdom. We have swords and stuff, but look at the MRSF and the ASDF. I remember a former Gaian Army recruit who specialized in katanas and the fire element. That may be a while ago, but I think there is still a bit of the olden-warrior stuff here...at least i hope so.
As for the whole "I took down mechs before, no biggie" comment. If plainly said "The defence cannons aims at the mech and shoots, aiming at " Then, the rper of the mechs could a) "the monitors beep and I boost away, enough to prevent the shot from the " b) "My mech gets hit and is now disabled." c) there is no rper...you played him/her yourself.
Of course, if you fire like....1000000 missiles at the mech....depending on the pilot's skills AND/OR the mech capabilities, they could possibly survive.
whee There is no certain outcome of a rp unless someone god modes like such: "I dodge all 1000000 missiles you shoot at me, then take out my beam cannon and demolish your base with one shot"
Sorry, it's just a little pet peeve of mine...I dont like it when people sound allmighty...
*hides back in shadows again* )

When you've got enough firepower to take down a D-Platoon mech, damn straight you can be secure you're damn powerful.

Josef Gafencu ((Yes, SRMs are deadly. Problem is, of course, range. If I spot you at the edge of a field, at a mile away, my small tank can probaly hit you several times with a 170mm gun, do massive damage, and pull off before you can close. However, if you find me at that half that range, my tanks are probaly, well, dead.
So a word of advice OOC from me - I believe range is quiet possibly the most vital attribute for any weapon, surpassing even power and accuracy in importance. No reason I can't have all three on most of my guns though, eh?)) ((just something I forgot to add, the fighter can fire from high above the Tank, and even if they are SRM, range is quite long for a short distance weapon...and most weapons wont reach it (gravity is lovely isnt it?? xd ) but I guess a large caliber may reach it....beats me...Im not that allknowing in Tank weapons...but Im sure of something, how usefull could be a weapon that reach the other end of the world if it doesnt hit its target??...or if it only does scractches to it??...if you ask me, range, power and acurancy has the same importance on a weapon...but lets say everyone has its own point of view )) Quote: OOC: Common sense puts the bridge near the center of the ship, and the "engine room" would be near the reactors which are *also* near the center of the ship. This is because there's nothing important out the fore window, and it's bad design to put the officers right in the line of fire. How often does being in the top bubble of the ship actually *help* in Star Trek? ((Well, some figthers carry nuclear weapons on their hardpoints, that may help to destroy a batleship...of course you may die in the blast sweatdrop ))
