Just curious.

In a game where practically anything can happen, where heroes, villains, and magic abound, whats something that happened that stuck in your head?
What is/are some of your most memorable/funny/cool moment(s) in the awesomeness that is Dungeons and Dragons?

Off topic is the right place for this, right? since its just D&D related?

I wouldnt say this was my "Most" memorable, But i will call it my most amusing. Well we were playing in a oriental-adventures based adventure and i was a nezumi rogue who could not speak common, so for the first half of the adventure we simply worked through a translater (one of the other part members knew nezumi) but half-way through it was getting a bit agrivating so we basically went through a side-quest to find an item that would allow me to understand, and be understood by common-speaking folk.

May the fierce be with you.

. My most memorable experience with Dungeons & Dragons is one of my first. A giant group of us got together on Friday evening after hanging out at our local community centre. We all carpooled to someone's house in the middle of nowhere, and locked ourselves in a room to game. There was a window, but it was excellently covered, and there were no clocks in the room. Eventually, after what felt like hours of playing, six people fell asleep on top of each other on the sofa, and a few of us took a bio break.

. When everyone woke up or returned to the room for more fun, one person noticed the sun was going down. That had to mean we were playing for about four or five hours. After our DM checked his watch, he let us all know that the sun wasn't setting, but rising... on Wednesday. Most of us were students at the same university, so we freaked out since we missed two days of classes. Instead of rushing away, we decided to stay for one last day of gaming... that lasted until Sunday night.

. To note: yes, this is the correct sub forum. Also, thank you for your continued interest in the Guild. My game is still available if you guys feel like making characters. I'd love to get something going.

We found a dire badger..

The halfling got naked, covered himself in red berry paste, and attempted to taunt it >.>

The halfling volunteered to be tossed 20+ ft into the air.

The halfling ordered the most expensive, and deadly alcoholic beverage within the entire continent. He then proceeded to jump into the mug which contained it (It was bigger than him obviously) and he swam in it..

He then passed out from absorbing so much alcohol into his system, nearly drowned before the party fighter pulled him out, and then when he woke up >.> Found that we were in a prison for a few days. .Yes, he was in a drunken coma for several days...

He was lucky to be alive.

Oh, or the time that I as a cleric of pelor glomped a drow and got turned into a cat. (Sort of funny story behind that one).

Halfling kicked me >.> I scratched his leg to all hell for that.

Oh yeah, the halfling also stole two copper pieces from a very poor old man who offered to give us a ride on his wagon FOR FREE.

>.> Yeah... no one liked that.

Or the time when the gnome ended up sleeping around with this gnomish boat captain that offered to sail us to this island for this one quest since we were saving their village.

They ******** several times, and she wound up pregnant.

Surprise... He was a Gold Dragon.. WITH A FAMILY >.>

Oh, and then we forgot the loot from a vital battle, one item of which was of dire importance to said quest. We had to go back on the boat >.> The gnomes had some more loving.

My most memorable... I was joking around and I attempted to steal my friend's shield. While he still had it equipped. I was successful, and he didn't notice a missing shield for five turns! Much laughter ensued biggrin

One of my most memorable moments in D&D history was when I attempted to DM for the first time and barely knowing the rules at all. So the group was in town and staying the night at an inn. The rogue of the party was out at night looking to pick pocket some no-gooders. Instead he sees two nobles walking by wearing fancy clothes and jewelry. He decides they are BAD for being rich and goes after them. One gets distracted and the other goes around a house where the rogue was waiting and gets knocked out (A rock to the head did him in). And the rogue took all his jewelry and clothes and then hid it in a barrel. The other noble came by and saw his friend next to the rogue. The noble asked, "What happened here?" The rogue replies, "Someone knocked him out..... and I just got here. There must be a thief in town."

Sense Motive VS Bluff--- Bluff wins by a lot

So the second noble goes to ask for help and also gets knocked out by the rogue. His clothes and jewelry are taken too. The rogue then hides them in another barrel and goes to bed.

The next day, he picks up the stuff and sells them for gold. The wizard of our party witnessed two naked nobles running across his path.

My first time playing Dnd, and my very first roll of the d20 in the game was a 1 stare My character decided to catch seven crossbow bolts... with his chest.

A gnome or halfling(Can't remember) in one of my brother's games fell into a pit along with a paladin. The gnome/halfling escaped the damage by crawling into a bag of holding, and the paladin pulls him out when he hits the bottom.

I am sort of confused how rolling a 1 nets you 7 bolts to the torso..

Unless it's a trap or a skill save like diplomacy or something >.>

But.. yeah.. >.> How did that one go down?

well, it was right before combat, and we came upon seven guys with crossbows. There was some sort of bounty on werewolves, and one of our guys was one. So the reflex save was representing a volley as all of them fired about. What it really means was that the DM was too lazy to roll 7 individual attacks.

I was at about -5 HP, so I pretty much laid there dying for the rest of the encounter. Which was short as the half-dragon in our party took all of them out with his breath attack.

Probably when I was playing a devoted Cleric of Pelor, and my character kept hearing voices in my head claiming to be Pelor. It told my character to run into the wilderness naked and fight off a bear. Eventually, I was wondering around for weeks before finding one, since they were rare in the area, and ending up dying since I was low level. Turns out later, another player was using Message to bother claim he was Pelor and making my character do what he wanted. razz

o.o "Note to self; Pelor will never make me naked wrestle bears while surviving in the wilderness or any variation there of." Just a question, what was the wisdom of your cleric? Very funny story b.t.w.
