Sooo.. my wisdom teeth are coming in. Like.. REALLY coming in. Actively. I woke up this morning and my top or bottom tooth on the left side of my face had moved so much during the night that it hurts to close my mouth now because i'm biting down on the wad of gums that's still in between the two teeth. Sooo now the whole left side of my face is like throbbingly sore.. and it feels like i've got a wad of cotton shoved into my mouth.
If i had known it would feel like this i would have told them to suck it when they said i could keep the little buggers.

They're not so bad right now, but they were swollen this morning and i couldn't even close my mouth without terrible pain going all down the left side of my face. :/

I hope your teeth feel better Toastie! A lof of people I know have had their wisdom teeth removed and some say it hurts really badly to get them out.
But my mom still has two of hers and they apparently ache randomly. =/
I can't decide what would be worse. gonk I hope your teeth come in and then you can forget about them!

I agree. I'm always all "No way in hell am I having my wisdom teeth removed." And then I hear this which makes me sorta worried.
Why do we have Wisdom Teeth again? D:
Hope the swelling goes down, Toastie. >:

humans have wisdom teeth because waaaay back before we had any kind of dental knowledge whatsoever, our teeth would rot and fall out. so wisdom teeth grew in to replace them. now we don't need them but they insist on sticking around anyway, like the appendix. >>;
also I don't know how much it hurts to get them removed, because they tried to do it on me when I was awake, and I... didn't like that. so they made me go to sleep. yay~
they do hurt a lot tho. they gave me headaches so bad I couldn't concentrate in math class, which led to me failing math. not good. D: ... this is why you should get braces after your wisdom teeth come out, not before, it'll move all your teeth everywhere
whoa this was a long post.

[This is the Sniper Game!] (Sign-ups are GO!) [+]Wisdom teeth are not fun. I had three taken out when I was eighteen, but the dentists wanted the fourth as well, which meant an extra $200. I was all "What, dental genocide!?! No thanks."
But then the one tooth I was able to save from a horrible Novocaine death decided to go all cavity on me. So I had it removed this year.
My advice if you're getting them out, do it before a break from school... you'll need close to 6 days to recover from it. [+] (The best thing to happen to Gaia.) [This Sniper is so Game!]

Ahh wisdom teeth, mine haven't come in yet. Which may or may not be a good thing.
This is actually kind of funny since just last week, probably Wednesday and Thursday, my friend was complaining of his wisdom teeth coming in. Like in the middle of the night his gums would start miserably bleeding... Then apparently sometime Friday he has at least one of them taken out and he was ready to volunteer with little kids come Monday. I was shocked. o.o Ginji took a lot longer to heal it seemed. Plus another friend/acquaintance from school had her wisdom teeth out and got a staff infection that spread to her brain. She's fine now. And since that happened, I realize that the odds are unlikely for anything like that to happen to me as well if and or when I get my wisdom teeth removed. :3

I have bad experiences with mouth surgery. There's a reason I don't like needles.
But I somehow keep on reading this thread and getting more nervous with each reply (this means giggling and crying).
I hope you don't have to get them removed, that the pain stops, and that you don't have to get braces again like a friend of mine.

Nope, i get to keep mine. The pain was just the wisdom tooth equivilant of teething, and i've never had to get braces. My teeth came in perfect and straight.
