I really love when Prince uses the drum synthesizer in his music. I think it's really a signature of his. I was really excited when I heard the new album and he used it in some of his songs. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't he one of the first to start using the synthesizer when it first came out?

Artists started using the synthesizer probably around 5-10 years before Prince did... that I know of. But yeah, I like his use of it to an extent. It seems to be a bit overdone (and sometimes kind of annoying >.>) in his earlier music.
