If this isn't the right place to put this thread in, then please close and I'll stick it in the Debate area. sweatdrop Sorry, I wasn't quite sure which one would be best...
Anyway, I'm in a little trouble concerning debate etiqutte. I am a Christian, and I've always taken a stand against homosexuality (which is wrong according to the Bible). One day WAY back in either September or October, I was in ED, and I posted on how homosexuality was wrong. Well, a guy PM'd me back, wanting to continue debating the issue. I thought it would be ok (he and I both had info backing us up, I believed), and I let him know in advance that I wouldn't be able to debate with him forever.
And, I didn't - by mistake! He had a really good PM I wanted to respond to, but I couldn't because I had to be off from Gaia for almost a solid month (thanks to school and other important stuff).
So, my question is this: should I reply to that post and start the debate over?

sure. But you should atleast tell him why you weren't on for such a long time. He might think you didn't have a response or something..

yes, i believe that you should continue to debate with him. when you start off the reply to his message, you should say something like "sorry i haven't responded in a while because....." and then go into the debate..

I gotta warn ya, the topic of homosexuality can be sticky one because the problems of liberal interpretation. If it gets where they bring up history and in-denial of scripture, don't waste your time.

Actually, this guy I'm talking to is bringing up those things! It's not Ananel, though. I read a quote from Ananel - he calls himself a Christian, but makes up this huge analysis on how homosexuality isn't condemned in the Bible because of this-and-that, therefore it's okay! What in the world - ?! I'll think I might go ahead and quit this debate, though...

Sometimes it's just not worth it to put in all this time for someone who probably isnt going to change their mind.

What in the world - ?! Did you even read his thesis? It has to do with translations from Greek/hebrew to english and what is lost in those translations. I repeat myself. Oh yes, a pox on the original language of the Bible. rolleyes
