Alida's mouth turned up into a small, shaky smile. Her hands were trembling, but she refused to look around to see who was laughing at her. As long as Zuko didn't think she looked like an idiot, she would stay out here.
As she stopped thinking about those around her, she began to move more fluidly, and it soon became apparent that she did have a good sense of the music's beat.

He grinned broadly as she seemed to let her body relax, her movements becoming more smooth, more in time to the music. He moved a little closer, so they were a foot or so apart; not as close as some of the other dances, definately, but not too far either. "See, you're doing fine!"

She smiled, though she didn't completely agree with him. She wasn't doing terrible, but she would hardly call it 'fine.' And he had moved closer, causing her to have to look up some to see his face. She could hardly hear what he said over the music, but his expression was encouraging.
The song stopped, and another started, this time with a beat that was somewhat subtler. And she got nervous all over again, not having a heavy beat to follow along with.
This time, however, she hadn't really started thinking about the people around them, so she calmed herself down and hunted for the beat through the guitar music. When she found it, she took a deep breath, not feeling so nervous anymore, and moved with the beat again.

Zuko smiled encouragingly again as the song slowly changed. He moved a little closer to her to match the beat of the song, not sure if he should dance body-to-body as many of the other people were. He didn't want to make her nervous; a subtle approach, but that was a little hard to do without it being obvious. "You're doing good!" He shouted over the music again, nodding as he curled his wings closer to his body.

*snerk* Zuko's such a flirt. *pets him* ))
Alida noticed him moving even closer... was he trying to dance like she'd seen some other's doing, so close they were touching? If he did... would she mind? She'd never thought about it before, but he was nice... and he was putting up with her when so many others would probably have tossed up their hands by now.
So, with a blush rising to her cheeks again, she edged slightly closer herself, continuing to dance. If that was what he intended, she hoped he'd take the hint. and if not... well, there was a crowd, and she could blame it on that.

He grinned slightly to himself as she moved closer as well, though you couldn't see the edges of his mouth turn up in the dim lighting. Zuko slowly let his arm creep up to rest on Alida's waist, using the other arm to help move his body in time to the music. "Having fun now, are we?" He asked. He didn't have to shout as much, since they were closer this time.

Zelos pushed open the door, grinning madly. The sound of the party had drawn him in from the street. Inside, many bodies were packed tightly together, and the air was heavy and hot. The music had a heavy, pounding beat to it. He was in his element.
The young man turned his seasoned eye to the dance flooring, trying to find someone alluring to attract and dance with. It wasn't ever hard ..

She blushed again when his hand rested on her waist, and she briefly thought about pushing it away and fleeing... instead she smiled up at him, and let that be her answer.
She couldn't have noticed Zelos enter, but then again, she had met him only once, so long ago that she wouldn't have recognized him anymore.

He smiled again in encouragement, dancing on for the next few songs. A few songs later, he slowly wove his way through the dancers, gently pulling Alida with him, towards the snack table. "Whoo, it's hot in there." He said, brushing the back of his hand across his forehead with a grin at his female companion.

Alida went willingly, quite glad to be out of the press of people, though she had been having fun. She chuckled silently at Zuko's over acting, but nodded in agreement before looking for something to drink on the table.
After getting a drink, she looked around, and noticed a door that looked like it went outside. She pointed to it questioningly.

He grabbed a cup, gulping down the punch in one drink. Zuko brushed his bangs out of his eyes, turning back to Alida as he saw her pointing at the door. "Wanna go outside then? Sure." He smiled, grabbing her hand again and weaving through the slowly growing throng of dancers, and out into the night air.
Second time I'll have come out here tonight. He thought with a grin as he turned back to Alida with another smile.

Of course, Alida didn't know this, or she probably wouldn't have suggested it, even if she wanted to go outside. She smiled back at him; his was contagious, it seemed.
After a couple seconds, she looked up at the sky, at the clouds that were drifting over the moon and took a deep breath. It was nice to get some cool air, and the beat of the music from inside was muffled. That was also nice.
She took a sip from her glass and wondered what to say... or rather, write. She sighed, once again running up against the difficulties of holding a simple conversation.
