i love water turtles, but i dont think ill ever have the room for one, those things need huge tanks for their size, but i guess they must be pretty active unlike my snakes lol

Yeah, Pickle's in a 75 gallon tank. It's 4 feet long. when he gets bigger I'm going to build an above the tank basking area, so I can fill the tank all the way up and give him even more room. (it's about 3/4 full now.) I'm just lucky he turned out to be a male. They are a little smaller, so I will probably get by with the 75 for life. If he had turned out to be a big female, I might have had to upgrade to a 120 gallon someday!
Funny part is, he was a SURPRISE Xmas gift! My friend who got him for me thought I would keep him in one of my spare 10 gallon tanks!!!OMG I've spent more than $1000 on the one turtle set up alone (and it's what sparked my interest in keeping herps) Turned out to be a very expensive gift, for ME. But I love him. favorite Xmas present EVER.
