Globe & Mail : Under Pressure

I have to admit I haven't read it, but got the jist of it from my lovelies. (I'd read it but it's waaaay past my bedtime.)

Reminds me of the "Health Check" status that we have in Canada. Yet, many of the Health Check products are not healthy. The companies usually have members both on the Canada Food Guide board as well as private corporations. Kinda hard to be unbiased when you're dealing with two companies, one which wants to make a profit.

Sorry I'm so lazy, but I wanted to post before I forgot. I'll add moar laterz.

As well, what kind of salt do you use? Sea salt, table salt, organic frou-frou salt hand harvested lovingly by wombats in New Zealand?

We use kosher sea salt. Not sure how salt is to be kosher, but my mom started to buy it when she heard it was somewhat better. Which i doubt. I am such a salt lover, strangely people in my family have actually had salt defiecncies. But I have come to attrubute that to they all had 3 square home make meals with fresh ingredents.

I use sea salt, but don't know if it's actually any better than regular salt. I've been trying lately to cut down on salt, as I realize that there's salt in EVERYTHING. But I love olives and pickles, and soya sauce. I do a mix of soya and olive oil as a salad dressing, I should probably try to pick up some special soya...

Sugar is just as bad in our culture, it's added to EVERYTHING, it's one of the first 5 ingredients in almost everything.

I use sea salt when I can (but low finances usually spur me to use regular salt), because I'm guessing harvesting salt from the ocean is better than stripping down more mines.

Must research this later....
