lol, so today, my saxophone was malfunctioning. It hadn't been dropped, hit against anything etc. Nothing had been done to it, i had just taken it out of the case. Anyway I was playing a C but it was coming out as a C# because a key wasn't closing. So after band this morning I was trying to fix it. Fixing straight springs, loose screws anything like that. I take a closer look at it and i see... a piece of cork was missing so the key wasn't closing all the way. I was a retard for thinking that cork wasn't all that important. DON'T DO THIS! Moral: don't be an idiot, cork is important

I learned this on my G# key about two months back except it was fabric that had worn down a little. It wasn't being held shut so my G's were G#'s. I put a little tape around the peice that holds it down and now it works again.

lol that reminds me......my bf was playing my sax...then broke it (even tho he has played sax as long as i have) cuz some how he broke the welding off of the neck that connects the neck and octave piece together.......then he tried to fix it with superglue....breaking it even more, so i took it into a shop......then 3 months later it broke again....... i hate when my sax breaks......but when the shop fixed it....they also screwed up my cork so i couldnt play anyways...my neighbor did a better job on it than the proffesionals did......
