I think the way in which they have done this is very bad, but not the initial concept. They have far too many dangerous sponsors in that list asking for social security numbers and the like.
Eirwyn is a member of the Borders Rewards program with Borders Bookstores. Part of this is being able to take surveys that are offered to earn Borders Rewards that can redeemed in various ways. However, none of these surveys ask for names, social security numbers, etc. They are true and proper surveys to gain statistical information.
If the Gaia surveys were like this, it would be quite fine. As it is, they are often not safe, and frequently misleading.
If you have taken an offer that you feel is especially bad, warn others here! Also, if you found a safe one, post that as well.

In my experience, no offer of this nature is ever EVER good. They're almost always a scam of some sort, or loaded with viruses. Or both. I'm pretty disappointed in the Gaia team for doing this, but then I can't say I haven't seen it coming, with all the new features being pretty much Cash Only. sad
I just stay away from them altogether, and I would warn anyone wanting to earn Gaia Cash in this manner to be very extremely careful.
This thread has some good information, as well as a list of some of the offers containing viruses.
