A little shop in the heart of Hogsmeade, newly serving ice cream, Honeydukes still has all of your old favorites. Treacle tarts, pumpkin pasties, licorice wands, Peppermint toads, chocolate frogs, acid pops, parchment scrolls, and more of the treats you crave at two in the morning.

Raina had been rather surprised at Seth's sudden offer in chivalry, hopefully he wouldn't be too insulted if she were to just go over to Honeydukes ahead of him. He was shortly behind him, but Raina was not the patient sort, not that sort at all. Walking rather gracefully into Honeydukes, she went up to the counter, hopefully they wouldn't be out of her favorite flavors again. Last time she had gone in, it was later at night, and the large barrel of mint chocolate chip ice cream was completely gone. Boy had she been seriously pissed. Luckily for her, when she looked down into the container of ice cream, there was plenty of ice cream, enough for her and a few others at that. With a pleased smile, she looked up at the women at the counter, and gave her an almost angry look. "I would like Mint Chocolate chip in a bowl with some chocolate sauce on top and a few cherries." Not bothering to say please, Raina had already calculated the cost and paid for it in exact change. No way am I having someone pa for my food. It's not like I need the money anyway. All I have to do is play the "daddy" card and I'm good. Isn't that sad. No one is holding me back. Ah well. Taking a seat, after getting her ice cream, Raina crossed her legs rather ladylike under the chair as she awaited Seth. "Sorry buddy, but I'm not the type to be kept waiting.." However I guess that is what happens when I decide to run to Honeydukes.

Seth entered, puffing. "Wow. When you need sugar, you really need it." He laughed quietly, heading for the sherbet. He inspected the shelves with a razor-sharp look, mentally turning each brightly colored sweet over in his head. After a moment he made his selection, buying an enormous bag of fruit sherbet and fizzing whizbees. He plunked down across from her, popping a sweet into his mouth and sighing as it fizzed explosively. He smiled, then suddenly his face contorted for a split second. He casually rubbed his left arm as if something had scalded him, hoping Raina didn't notice. Another stab of pain shot through his forearm, and there was a crunch as his startled teeth crushed the candy. He coughed and sputtered as fizzing suds filled the inside of his mouth. "Ugh. I look like I have rabies," he groaned as he finally was able to swallow the candy and wipe the remaining foam from his lips.

With a rather incriminating smile, Raina glanced over towards Seth, watching his decisions as he looked through all of the sweets. FIzzing whizbees and Sherbet. Hurm, good choices. Raina took little bites, however, her resistance could not be kept, and she just stuck her finger right into the whipped cream. Into her mouth it went, one of her favorite parts of a sundae, spare the few cherries that she had already eaten. Her eyes glanced up at Seth as he rubbed his arm. Maybe he got stung by a bee, or maybe he just has turrets. Shrugging off what she had just seen, considering it his problem, she looked as he put the fizzing whisbees into his mouth. Letting out a small laugh, more out of politeness than anything, she thought of something almost witty. "What would a candy rabies shot look like? Would it be like injecting yourself with sour extract? If so, I would love to try it." Putting her hand underneath her chin, Raina went of on an internal tangent, thinking of almost all of the possibilities of what she had just drummed up in her evil little mind.

Seth snorted. "I'd prefer the oral suspension. The last thing I need is an injection of pure sugar." Sighing, he rubbed his arm again and looked at Raina with his arctic blue eyes. "What would you do," he asked suddenly, "If you could do anything, buy anything, or put anything right?" The glow in his eyes was distant, and he chewed on the corner of his lip unconsciously.

I actually wouldn't mind trying injected sugar, but I'll leave that to myself.. With a little smile, Raina glanced at Seth. For once, she was actually enjoying herself with another human being. Normally, she would have split pretty quickly, almost instantly if it wasn't someone that she had a moderate emotional connection to, however, she would have split from Ascella in a second if she mentioned a certain slytherin's name. It was his sudden question, and the seriousness in his eyes that totally struck her, and at the end of her question, Raina almost made a motion to just get up out of her seat right there. In fact, she even stood up partially, just a few inches off her seat, just because she was so taken aback by the seriousness of the question. If I could do anything...Put anything right...Well...I know. With a sigh, Raina stared right back at Seth, her green eyes almost even more so piercing than his blue ones, but that didn't have any merit. None at all. Her expression was blank, yet something in her eyes told everyone that it was a very painful subject, one she almost considering not answering..However, something inside her yanked her internal chain, forcing her to sit down and stay there. He deserves an answer. I'll tell him, but if he asks why, I'm out of here. "I would make it so I never opened my letter to hogwarts." Raina was completely serious, not an ounce of joke, or regret. Not a flinch, not a flicker, not a twitch of any remorse. She knew what she was talking about, almost as if she had been contemplating that exact question for years.

Seth looked at her in total disbelief. "Not... Not open your letter to Hogwarts?" His face was not antagonistic, but genuinely confused, as if she'd pulled open her robes to reveal an empty heart. "Hogwarts is... Magical. It's... The thing people dream about and never find. And we, well, we get to live here for seven years, probably the most important seven years of our life. Hogwarts has done me so much good, and I honestly believe coming here was the best thing that ever happened to me." His eyes darkened, and a flicker of disgust crept across his face. How can she not appreciate all that Hogwarts is? All it stands for? All that it means? He struggled with himself, determined not to verbalize his revulsion. Seth felt not the barest hint of pity for her, as he held no pity for himself as he thought, Whatever happened to her truly has twisted her perceptions terribly awry. He finally spoke, tone casually distainful, almost talking to himself. "I never thought I'd meet someone as blind as I was."

It wasn't a surprise to her, his reaction to her open ended statement. Raina was pretty much expecting something along those lines, however she was very glad that he didn't directly ask her for any sort of explanation. That she was grateful for, and that she would not forget. Her eyes stay locked with his, her face almost as stone as she listened to his insensate babbling. Magic...This place has been hell. Sheer hell. "A dream.." Raina couldn't help but shake her head. He just didn't get it. It wasn't the fact that it was what she would gain, but what she would loose. If she really could go back in time, she would pick up what she lost over what she gained. How can I make you understand? But, do I really want you to understand? Raina couldn't help but laugh at his last statement. "Blind. No. I'm not blind. I know exactly what I'm talking about. Every. Last. ******** detail. I've ran it through my mind, I've replayed every event, every word, every instant. You wanted my answer, and you got it." It was almost anger that was erupting from her mouth, but just as she spoke she thought to herself something that she hadn't before. It was just a simple question, something easy. If I had lied, he would not have been satisfied. I think I'll ask one in return. Instantly calming herself down, Raina gazed at him, her green eyes piercing his blue ones. If one person could ever be as stone as Raina's gaze, they would be a statue, for it was almost terrifying, the look she was giving. "If you had the choice, between having Esrath for another fifteen years and never going to Hogwarts, or attending hogwarts without him, which would you choose?" I had to make a choice similar, but I didn't even know that it was just that, a choice.

Illuminatus glared at her, the tension between the two intense gazes almost tangible in the air. "I did want your answer, and I thank you for sharing it," he said evenly. "I do not judge people, for I have nothing to compare them against. I certainly do not feel like one." What happened to her, he wondered. Why is she so terribly like... me? He sighed at her question, answering it honestly. "Had I not gone to Hogwarts, Esrath and I would probably end up dead anyway. Hogwarts was the one place we were safe. Where no one was out to kill us. And we weren't out to kill anyone." His eyes flared brilliantly with icy light as he continued, "I would come back to Hogwarts, even if I knew what would happen. Because drawing one's power from hatred is a fragile advantage at best. Hogwarts has been the best thing that ever happened to me!"

There wasn't a whole lot more she could say, without actually telling him the reason for her anger. Why she was so angry at everyone, why she was more angry at herself. It was a choice she didn't knew existed that threw her over the edge, a choice that kept her up at night. "It's good to hear that someone has their thoughts straight. Good thing that you enjoyed Hogwarts too." If I tell him what is up, then it will give away the fact that I really shouldn't be a Slytherin. No, Salazar wouldn't have let me in if he was still around. However, maybe someone needs to know. It would explain a lot, and who knows, maybe Seth does have the right idea. Or maybe this is just the butterbeer clouding my mind. Regardless of the reason, Raina was unable to keep her mouth shut, she even shyed away from his gaze as he began speaking. "I don't deserve to be a slytherin. I'm not a pureblood, no, not at all. My mother was a muggle. And because I got the letter in the mail, and worse, because I opened it and showed her, she left. Just. Like that." I need another butterbeer. Stats. her ice cream was already gone, and her hand went up to her head. Delayed reaction from the pint of butterbeer she inhaled at the three broomsticks. It was definitely something that was in it, hey, maybe for once the bar tender didn't water down the beer. None the less, Raina just talked, and her mind just couldn't get it to stop. "Why am I telling any of this to you again?"

"Slytherin isn't the pureblood house," Seth said firmly. "Nor is it only for the evil. It's for the fiercely determined, the powerful, and the ambitious. For people like you, Raina, who are strong." He sighed, popping another sherbet into his mouth. To be rejected by one's own parents for being different... I can't imagine the pain. To be able to embrace that power, but always hating it because of what it did to her. He opened his mouth to say something else, then suddenly snapped his jaws shut. His left arm exploded with pain, pain enough to make his vision swim and his head throb. He knew he had to get out of Hogsmeade, get back to the castle, but he didn't want to leave. I can tough it out a bit longer... I may never get her to open up this much again. The fact that we're both tipsy might have something to do with it was well... But his arm didn't stop burning, and time was running out. He stood up, clenching the appendage close to his chest. "I'm sorry, Raina, I have to get back to the castle. I find myself in need of a certain potion..." He thrust the bag of candy into his robes and moved nearer to Raina. "As to why you are telling me, my answer is thus:" He kissed her swiftly on the cheek before she could protest, and vanished into the overcast street, breaking into a run. Time was very short indeed.

With a rather confused look, Raina just simply watched as he bolted from Honeydukes. If in his passing his lips did not meet her cheek, she probably would have thought that he was sick of her whining, and decided to leave. Regardless, the fact that he left was a bit unnerving. Honestly, a tipsy b***h sitting alone in Honeydukes was not just an embarrassing sight, but a concerning one at best. Wait..Was he clutching his arm? Ah well. Getting up from her seat, Raina threw her dish away and followed suit, leaving honeydukes. However, her destination was not the castle, but back to The Three Broomsticks where she could drink herself into oblivion.

The streets of Hogsmeade flashed by Seth as he ran, cloak billowing out behind him like liquid shadow. His vision distorted once again, and his run became a stumble, a fight to keep moving forward. Failure is not an option, he thought furiously to himself. If you push the curse to its limit, you're going to pay for it dearly. He gritted his teeth and ran harder, sprinting through the castle gates and up to the Ravenclaw dormitory, where he retrieved a flask of deep violet potion. He took a very small sip and shuddered as if it chilled him. Pushing up his left sleeve, he uncovered a horrid, ropey burn scar that was slowly fading as the potion took effect. He sighed deeply. That had been close. Too close.
