As much as I am horrifed, all I can think in the end is...

"Good, ******** let them die." True, it is a disorder but in the end, I can't stop them. So I refuse to care.

Brash, but I agree with Wrym. I'll try and help, but If they wont accept it, I just say, Fine. Die for all I care. I tried. I have a girlfriend who had/has a problem with throwing up after a meal, I have yet to figure out if she is still doing it. I simply said to her,
"As long as your throwing up continuously, I cant kiss you. I dont want to taste acid on my to-lips."

...Wow. I used to be on chemo that made me puke constantly, would you say the same thing? Whether it's chemo or bulimia making you puke, it's a medical issue.

I wouldn't consider bulimia as a medical issue, as the bulimics are intentially struggeling their bodies to get rid of fat in an exaggerated manner.
Chemotherapy would be a part of a medical treatment, where the options are quite limited.

But I got to admit: I'd probably hesitate to kiss somebody on the mouth if they're puking regularry or have recently puked.

That's like saying people with depression want to be unhappy. In many cases it is considered a medical issue, or at the very least mental issue. True bulimics can't help it.

And in my case, I was on chemo for non fatal skin disease. It wasn't really necessary. Puke every week or have funny looking skin? Fighting with doctors is fun. biggrin

I consider anorexia and bulimia as actions, and not mental states. It's the depression people experience, from thinking they're either way too fat (or too thin), which lead them to choose a way to alter their weight.

Your case consist of puking as an unpleasant side effect, unless the medical personell think the puking actually help you skin.

So you view anorexia as a effect of depression? Well then someone could make the argument that it "makes them feel better" like some claim cutting helps. They try to make themself feel better but make it worse. Ever way, they become a danger to themself.

I feel awkward defending an issue I have little experience with. confused

If people think they don't have to worry 'bout taking responsibility for their own actions, let their own actions be their downfall. For every action, there's a reaction.
I simply imply they're at fault for what they do to their own body, but the depression (or the cause) is still the main problem.
