im really busy during the week so i just slip in a small prayer any time i can. it is false belief that every prayer has to be eloquent, but it doesnt. the prayer i say everyday is 'god i thank you for letting me live today' and thats usually the only prayer i get in. thats usually all i need to stay closer to god.
Not every prayer you say has to begin with "God". It's like talking to a close friend. I don't start off every conversation with Rikonah by saying "Rikonah, ... " It could be as simple as, " Look at those beautiful trees.." Just comments here or there praise Him too.
You say thanking God for being alive is all you need to keep you close to Him, but imagine the other levels of faith you can reach by praying more often, doing devotionals, just talking to Him, reading His word.
