Welcome to the Contests Forum!
Like the Debate forum, this forum will have a set of rules that apply only in here. Of course, the Guild Rules must also be followed, with a few exceptions.
Guild Rules
1. No poll = 1 point (First time is a free warning) 2. Extremely rude/crude post = 2 points 3. Flaming/being extremely rude to another member = 3 points 4. Flaming/being extremely rude to a mod = 5 points 5. Flaming/being extremely rude to a Captain/Vice Captain (or just the guild in general) = 10 points AKA Instant banning 6. Begging = 2 points 7. Necroing old threads = 1 point 8. Continually bumping in the same thread = 1 or 2 points 9. Follow the ToS! Remember this is a PG-13 site! 10. Disobeying the request to stay out of this subforum = 2 points
Rule 7 does not apply in this subforum. Necroing is allowed. Rule 8 does not apply only if the contest in question is a bumping contest of some kind. For all other contests, no bumping allowed.

Contest Forum Rules
1. Any prizes that are offered must come from the contest organizers' own pockets. In rare cases, the VCs might grant assistance in funding a contest. Anyone who would like assistance in funding a contest may ask. This assistance will be granted on a case-by-case basis, and usually only to contests that are unique and/or complex. Simple contests such as bumping will not be considered for assistance.
2. Only five each of bumping or random number generator contests will be allowed at once. That is, a bumping contest simply asking for "first person to reach X amount of bumps or reach page X", or a random number / dice roll contest that is simply "whoever rolls this number or gets closest to rolling this number", will be limited to five each. We don't want 47 contests like that. If more than five are found to be going on, the extras will be locked until the previous ones have been finished or their time limit has been reached (see following rule).
3. Simple contests like those mentioned above are limited to a two week duration. If a winner has not been found within that time, the thread will be locked. Anyone organizing a contest like this should be careful not to make their contest last longer than two weeks. Don't ask participants for 6000 bumps. They won't be done in time.
4. Anyone who wants to run a more difficult contest and doesn't think two weeks will be enough time may contact a VC to ask for an extension. These will be granted on a case-by-case basis depending on the nature of the contest. The time limit must be stated clearly within the rules of the contest, and the name of the VC who authorized it must be mentioned. Anyone found to have an unauthorized extension will be suspended from the subforum for a period of time.
5. Whenever a contest has ended, either due to a winner being chosen or the time limit being reached, a Crew member should be notified so that the thread can be locked. This is to prevent people from trying to play after the contest has ended. If the creator wishes to reopen the thread later to start the contest over, they may ask a Crew member to unlock the thread. This can only be done if the new contest is the same as the old one. A different contest should be made in a new thread.
6. No member-run contest can, under any circumstances, ask for an "entry fee" or otherwise demand that participants send in money or items to get into the contest. Reason being, there is too great a risk of scamming. Only official PG contests are permitted to require entry fees, and these fees will always go toward creating future contests. Any member-run contest found to be soliciting money/items from participants will be deleted immediately and the creator will be suspended from the subforum for a length of time.
7. All contests must be open for all PGers to enter. Contest organizers are not allowed to exclude anyone, unless their contest is specifically designed with that in mind. Example: a contest where people have to use a certain item and create the best avatar. Obviously, people without the item cannot participate. Similarly, contests that only have a limited number of participants are allowed to refuse entry to people if the limit has been reached. No one should be refused entry into a contest merely because the organizer doesn't like them.
Contest organizers may come up with their own rules for their own contests, as well. Participants will be expected to follow these rules. If someone breaks a rule, the organizer has the right to ask them to leave. If the violator refuses, the organizer may contact a Crew member, who can then ban the violator from the subforum for a period of time.
