User ImageI was sleeping this afternoon and had a dream that left me feeling indescribably odd. In the dream, I was pregnant - but I made it all nine months without growing especially large or letting my family find out. I wanted to have this baby and give it up for adoption without ever letting my parents find out. In the dream and in real life, I do like babies, but I do not want to have babies of my own (I do not want to have to give up that much of my personal wants, nor do I want to raise a child who feels that mommy doesn't ever want to play with it).

Anyway, in the dream I was in my house, where the living room had been converted into a hospital room. My clarinet teacher from college was delivering the baby, and it was apparently the day she was scheduled to be born, because I wasn't having labor pains, but the baby felt like it was trying to come out. So for some reason I was laying on my back, hugging my knees to my chest for the whole dream, trying to keep the baby from falling out. Some strange man with dark hair walked in, delivered a box of cookies, told me congrats in French, and left.

Nothing else really happened in the dream, except that at one point I was trying to figure out how I could keep the baby without letting my parents find out. When I realized that wouldn't work, I tried to figure out how to get the baby adopted without letting my parents find out. At one point, a random person made a joke about "You aren't gay, are you?" and I replied, "Do I LOOK gay?" and pointed to my belly.

This was a pretty disjointed dream and it's kind of hard to remember all of it, so sorry for the weird posting... I've heard that colours are sometimes important in dreams, and I remember seeing a lot of white and bright neon yellow.User Image

Dreams are built around fragments of what the subconscious picks up from our environment. So yeah often if there are hidden messages they will seem disjointed until you look at the symbols and peices and try to see what they might represent to you. Then you fit them together to get the hidden story.

From what I'm getting, the dream is primarily about hiding and not wanting to let go of something even though you might have to. Babies and pregnancy is purity, personal growth and development (new life stage), as well as helplessness and innocence.

Usually when specific people are involved in dreams they represent some aspect or trait we admire. As the teacher is acting as a midwife, there is some sense of trust and respect to add to that. Not sure about the man, but cookies are a comfort food and can offer a sense of security and wellbeing.

The gay comment I have no idea about.

White again is purity & protection. Yellow can be fear or heavy emotions (especially darker yellows), but brighter yellows would be inteligence, warmth, personal power and control.

Not sure if that means anything to you, but hope it might give you some insight or open up other possibilities for it.

Thyna
