Taking them outside is a lot of work, especially since I'm always a nut about being careful. However, I did a semester long photo project with my YoSD Kakeru while traveling across Japan for my university's blog. Getting paid to do photo stories every week convinced me to take the little guy out and visit a lot of cool places, and endure a lot of weird looks from bystanders.
The whole time, we chased his missing cat (Komame) while having a lot of adventures along the way, staying at hot springs and visiting the Studio Ghibli museum, famous temples and shrines from Tokyo to Kyoto, the Ueno Zoo, etc. Here are a few samples of Rowan traipsing from landmark to landmark in Japan:
