Adustes crouched for a closer look where Furian indicated. A couple seconds' observation revealed the prints. He thought nothing of it, and began to rise, when the half-dragon pointed out their pattern. He lowered again and scrutinized the tracks more closely, until he could make out the lack of a second set, and the distinct bipedal gait of whatever creature had left them. He brought a hand to his chin, idly raising a finger to run over his lip-rings as he considered Furian's findings.
"A satyr?" he murmured, his thoughtful tone making clear that he was thinking out loud. "Or perhaps a faun..." He sneered at the thought that such light-hearted fey may have been about, but quickly dismissed the notion. Shadar-kai and other fey held a mutual distaste for one another. Had one of those happened across the camp, Adustes would have been worse off than merely missing one of his companions. No, it was unlikely to be another fey.
What, then, would have left such tracks?
After another moment's thought, he decided that whatever it was, it would only be relevant if it pursued the group. He lifted his gaze to the half-dragon. In a low voice, and using the Draconic tongue he asked, "Have you discovered anything that ties this to the woman's disappearance?"

Furian replied in Draconic, "No, but these tracks are the only thing I can find out of the ordinary." He wasn't sure what the need was to keep this conversation secret, but he went with the notion nonetheless. He thought perhaps the priest didn't want to incite panic in the others, especially since nothing could be confirmed.

Adustes gave a thoughtful nod and slowly stood, hoping Furian would follow his lead, that any of the others who might look over would only see he and the half-dragon speaking, not inspecting the ground.
He stole a quick glance to the group, ensuring that nobody had ventured close enough to eavesdrop and, his voice still low, hissed "I would appreciate if you not mention this to the others. I don't want to chance frightening any of them into turning back, especially if we can't be certain these-" gesturing with one hand to the tracks Furian discovered, inadvertently sprinkling them with a few drops of blood in the process, "-are even pertinent. This far from civilization, I cannot replace any of them without turning back. And I have no intention of doing that until my business here is complete."

The priest's words mirrored Furian's thoughts almost perfectly, though this Adustes was far colder than Furian had expected. He nodded and simply said, "When you're ready to move on I'll lead us north, the mountains are not far." This priest was a curious thing to Furian, very different from the proselytizers he had met before. In addition their goals were in the same place so it only made sense to be compliant.

Adustes gave a mirthless grin, pleased by the fiendish half-dragon's compliance. Though, he'd had no reason to doubt it, Furian had no attachments to any of the priest's hirelings, why should he care what Adustes tells them? "Let us see if we can hasten our departure, then," he said. With that, he turned and approached the trio still within the field, angling in to keep Vellek between himself and the man's torch.
"Nothing," he informed the group before anyone could ask. He ignored Vellek's subsequent frown, but took note of Vhael'iss' absence. He looked to the treeline with a scowl. How long did it take the girl to follow half of the treeline and return? He'd done his half and stopped to speak with Furian, and was back already. That she wasn't... did that mean she'd found something? He hoped not. The sooner she returned with nothing to report would be the sooner they could move on. As it was, they should've been on their way hours ago, Dharchalasair curse that human wench.
His gaze swept over the treeline as he awaited the minstrel's return.
