Tell everybody i'm on my way New friends and new places to see With blue skies ahead, yes i'm on my way And theres no where else i'd rather be
Tell everybody i'm on my way And i'm loving every step i take With the sun beating down, yes i'm on my way And i can't keep this smile off my face
Cause theres nothing like, seeing each other again No matter what the distance between And the stories we tell, will make you smile Or really lifts my heart
So tell'em i'm on my way New friends and new places to see And to sleep under the stars and could ask for more With the moon keeping watch over me

For the first time in quite a while Kasumi had managed to get away from the den at night. It was her favorite time of the day. Just after the sun had set she'd run out and glided down from the cliff near the den. The colors of the sunset always made her smile seeing as her coloring mainly resembled one. This night she was going to stretch her wings and try to fly even further. Though they still could not actually lift her that well.
Bright blue eyes spot a tall tree that she quickly pads over to. With a slight grin, she unsheathes her claws and begins her climb up to the very top. Or the highest tree limb that could hold her.

Yaru, as well, had taken to wing when night had fallen, searching for his brother as they played a friendly game of hide and seek. It was especially fun, he had to admit, since unlike the normal mortals that roamed this land, they could do it in more than one form. No longer quite as timid and skittish as he was a cub, he still was very wary of those he came in contact with...though it was rare since most slept while they played.
He was contemplating this as he searched the land in his owl-form for a sign of his brother when he was surprised out of his perch by a climbing winged lioness. Hooting in indignation, he dropped about 10 feet before he changed first to a wisp form (allowing him to stop his fall safely) then to his normal lion one on a lower branch. Calling up, he cried, "Warn someone when you're about to do that okay?!" He was mostly angry cause he knew his brother would now have moved to a different spot, and the chase would start again.

Kasumi's eyes widened as she heard somebody yell at her. Wings flapped rapidly as he tried to use that to move up faster. Most likely that really only sent bursts of wind at whoever was below her. Once she was crouched on a taller limb she looked down, now curious.
"Oh! I'm so so sorry! I did not think anybody would be out here at this time of night." She then jumped and circled as she used her wings to glide down. It had not been her intention to startle anybody.

Angry, he once more switched to owl form as she leapt and glided from the tree top, following along behind. Circling the tree, he timed it so that the trunk was between him and her before switching quickly to lion form so that it looked like he appeared from no where. Using the momentum he'd gained from flying he padded out into view before settling on his haunches to watch her. Using his irritation at her entrance as fuel, he called out, "You'll never develop your muscles flying that way. Trees won't always be convenient, you realize, and you'll never be able to do any serious long distance flying like that." Muttering under his breath, he added, "Maybe try flapping those things once in awhile too..."

As she landed very nicely on the ground, sticking her landing, she padded over to this new lion. Only a smile formed at his angry comments. As she grew up in a very loving family where her parents never really fought, nor her and her brother, it did not bother her in the least. It came across as helpful critisism.
"Oh yes I know. I'm just not sure where to jump from besides the cliff by my family den. Do you know where I could? And a better way to build my flying muscles?" She sat a few feet away, looking him over. He had clothing too. "I guess I could flap a bit more. But I wanted to go down."

Her happy attitude annoyed Yaru, which is probably why he was being as direct as he was. His brother (not to mention his fathers) would of been surprised to see this side of him being presented. "Isn't the object of using these things," Yaru said, tugging on one bright wing, "to stay up instead of go down? Granted, I've not met many winged lions, and your wings don't seem full grown quite yet...still I've heard most just take off from the ground after taking a flying leap, and giving a couple good hard flaps to gain altitude. Not all that hard really." He didn't realize his last statement was rather confusing since he himself had no visible wings, so how would he know how to fly?

His comments continued to pass as helpful to her, so she nodded as if she was being taught lessons. Feeling her wing pulled caused her to giggle and swat at his ear flakes playfully. "That tickles!" When he explained how to take off though, her head tilted to the side. It was confusing indeed. "How do you know how to fly? You don't have wings..."
Remembering what he said, she ran and flapped her wings hard as she caught a gust of wind. She then launched herself as high as she could jump, and took off, flying high into the air. "Wow! This is fun!" Her wings still tired quickly, them not big enough yet, so she landed again and padded back over to him with a big bright smile.

Feeling a bit flippant, Yaru merely replied with a smirk and a "Oh yeah, care to bet on that?" when asked about how he knew what he did. Of course he had wings....just not in this form. Sitting back, he watched her take off and fly, watching her form and speed. "Very good. Now that's the way I'd reccommed practicing from now on. Just jumping out of trees wont' strengthen the muscles you'll need to get out of danger's way when you need to most and there's nothing around."
Cocking his head, he motioned her to be quiet. He was sure he'd seen something...perhaps it was his brother? Curious, he gave her a whispered "I'll be right back," before changing to his owl form before her eyes and taking off for a quick look around. Seeing nothing truly remarkable, or dangerous, he circled around the tree, changing once more as he went behind it to land before her in lion form once more. "Sorry...thought I'd heard my brother."

Her new friend's comments caused Kasumi to smile happily. It was obvious he was right about always climbing on something to fly. If she only did it that way her wings would become weak and would not be able to hold her up regardless of how big they got. "Thank you for telling me the correct way to take off. I got landing by my Dad showing me. I can see your point about learning to take off from the ground."
When he told her to wait, her muscles instantly tensed up. What she saw though caused her to sit back in shock, her mouth hanging open. He turned into an owl! But how? No way! When he landed and became a lion again she just stared at him. "Wow....your...an owl...?" She stood and circled him, then started giggling. "That is so cool!"
