kacisko You're visitting there because of family, religion or tourist reasons? Family. Grandparents live there. And tourism, sorta, though I've already kinda seen everything there is to see in the country. Well, maybe not Eilat, but coastal tourist resort towns are the same everywhere. xd

It's nice to have grandparents in an interesting country. I don't have any family like that.
I've been on the other side of the border on vacation some... 6 years ago. And always wanted to visit Jordan.

I'm sure Eastern Europe has plenty of interesting places to visit. razz
I've been to Jordan too. Have to say, the only reason anyone would really want to visit the country is to see Petra. That's a truly amazing place. But aside from that there's maybe one or two sites with Roman ruins, but you can find those just about anywhere in the Mediterranean and they all look identical. It's especially underwhelming if you've already been to Rome. Outside of the capital, Amman, it's pretty much entirely godawful small towns filled with abandoned buildings and heaps of trash.

kacisko ash: yeah, Petra is exactly what I'm talking about There's nothing quite like it. The best way to see it is to schedule a 1-2 day bus tour from Israel.
@Mega: It's not a bad place at all to visit. Generally friendly towards Americans, just about everyone in the large cities speaks English, and plenty of easily accessible things to see on account of the country's small size.
