I don't know how many of you attend school/graduated or whatnot, but since the school year for most school's is done or close to it by now, I'm curious to see how you guys spend your summer musically.
First off, do you play at all outside of school? Like, do you take private lessons or play in groups or even solo during the summer? Anyone go to orchestra camps? I've always wanted to, but they're expensive, and I just FINALLY saved up to get me a viola within the last few months, so camp was pretty much out of the question, and now I'm too old XD
Second, where I'm from, there is a youth orchestra that's separate from the schools(also expensive XD), and I was wondering if you guys have anything similar to that where you're from.

Nah, I basically just fart around with my old music. I should be more active this summer, though, because of my Music Theory experience. I might start writing duet pieces for two violas and a viola and a piano...but this will be the first year I try any of that.
I wish I knew about orchestra camp when I was younger...I would have demanded to join xD That sounds really cool. My kids are gonna do that when they learn an instrument.

Well, I don't end school June 25th or so.
I don't usually play in the summer, due to the heat, and my friends x].

i take private lessons
i dont want to be those ppl who just stop playing their instruments
and wen they get back to school, they mostly forgot how to play >.<

I know! It's like nearly impossible to balance work, social time and viola. I can't believe summer's like half over already. I wanted to save up for a lot of things, but i have a problem with spending money. Mostly on things i don't need.
