Yaaay I just found out I passed 2kyu!!! I knew I would pass it because I worked so hard for it in the 3 months before it took place. My score didn't change from my practice tests, but I'm totally satisfied. Anyone else got their results back?

Hi...unfortunately, I'm not old enough for the proficiency test, nor am I proficient. I need more formal education before I can, because I took Japanese school a long time ago, and I just started again, but the time I wasn't taking it I lost a lot of the intellectual structure...maybe in a few years.
Ganbattene!

a classmate of mine is making the trip to Cali for the 2-kyuu test. He's crazy, he's only 19 (and a sophomore in college), but he lived in Japan for a year in highschool, tested straight into our 2nd year class and he's pretty much fluent as far as conversational Japanese goes, but he's not great at polite form or at kanji, so we'll see how it goes. I don't know if I'm gonna go for it. If I get into JET maybe I could take it in Japan, who knows.

The real killer is that it is only once a year. It's really taking its toll on my classmates and I.. it's not just the preperation, but the waiting for it.. and the knowledge that if you don't pass it, you gotta wait a WHOLE year. Everyone is so stressed out and worried if they don't get something right away, and well.. テンションが超下がった。 I've been having severe stress myself, not to mention migranes...
God Japanese are so damn きびしい。

Wisteria Darling お久しぶり。 I've been away from the forums for months now (I got tired of Gaia, and this was the only place I posted anyway), so if anyone remembers me... hi. smile Just wondering if anyone is taking the proficiency test on December 4th? If so, where at? I am taking 2級. How are you studying for your test? Nervous? I'd really like to meet some people who are taking the test, to share studying strategies, etc. Maybe I'll run into you on the test day as well! (In Tokyo, at the 国士舘大学) (Ugh the font was weird in the subject heading... sorry!) I am. Taking the test I mean. But in Perth stare

Heyyyy took the test two days ago. It was okay until reading and grammer part though. It kinda caught me off guard because there was SO much reading and the topics were so hard.
I hope I passed.... I worked so hard to get to this point... mad
