And so it was a rather 'ruffled' Anna that unlocked the door of her first floor apartment. She swung the door open and paused at the opening. The dramatic stop wasn't entirely her idea though, the large turkey had walked in front of her and was blocking most of the opening. "welcome home, now lets go in"

The turkey turned his small head and regarded the human with beady eyes. He gave her a dont-tell-me-what-to do-petty-human look and then pretending it was his own idea strutted into the small home.

Anna followed rolling her eyes. 'What have I gotten myself into' she thought to herself as she put her purse on the white counter and went to follow the bird.

The turkey toured the apartment with his stately walk, regarding each room carefully he finnished with what seemed to Anna to be a satisfied nod. He stood in front of the girls couch with an expectant look on his ugly face.

Annabelle sighed and scooped the turkey up gracelessly. She plopped him on the couch ignoring the offended look she was given. "well you need a name" she told him sitting down as well as the large bird settled into soft seat. "how about Joe?"

The bird managed to look horrified and gave vent to an indignant sound.

"No...alright then something a bit more classy then." Anna thought for a moment, "Edmund" she finally said with a nod.

The bird inclined his head as though pondering her suggestion and then gave her a satisfied gobble. Edmund shut his eyes then signaling to his human to leave him alone.

Anna made a face at the large fowl and got up. She looked at the large aquariums and recalled that she hadn't fed her fish yet. Crossing the room she lifted a small net and scooped up a few large feeder fish which she dumped into another tank. The water immediately began to 'boil'. Anna watched with a smile on her face, bemused so much that she didn't hear the rattle of Edmund's claws on the linolum as he approached.

The bird watched his human for a few moments and finally became annoyed when he didn't pay attention to him. He gently pecked at her leg and assumed a haughty expression. He'd teach her to ignore him!

Anna looked down with a strange smile, "you know, in the dry season when there is little food avaliable pirhanas take to eating each other. One will attack its own kind and in the battle ensuing both will be injured. The scent of blood creates a whirlwind of activity, enticing the others into a feeding frenzy." she turned again to the slowly calming waters.

"Dinner time" Anna called from the kitchen, a bit overly loud considering Edmiund was only in the living and separted by the counter only. For some reason the large bird had bothered the girl.

Edmund lifted his head from the pillow it had been resting on. He stood and looked at the ground far below the couch. He gave Anna an expectant look and remained where he was.

Anna ignored him and sat down at the table with her own dinner.

The turkey glowered and if it was possible frowned and then began to gobble noisily.

Anna tried to ignore it for a time and then with a fustrated sigh she got up and rather roughly picked up the turkey "Edmund...we need to talk." she set him on the floor and sat on couch. "I don't think you understand the situation here...you are a turkey, I am a human. Human's eat turkeys got it?"

Edmund looked down his beak and turned away. He waddled into the kitchen and looked around for his dinner. Silly human, how little she knew.

Anna shrugged and followed. "I'm glad we understand each other" she told him, her voice full of sarcasm. She picked up the bowl of grain that was on the counter and placed it on the floor near the table. She was almost surprised when Edmund didn't complain and began to eat.

Anna flipped her journal open and chewed thoughtfully on the end of her pen as she thought.

Annabelle

Well...it's been awhile since I've opened this book and wrote anything so before I get onto the interesting stuff about emotions and stuff I'll fill you in on happenings.

I bought new pet...actually I bought thanksgiving dinner but I couldn't bring myself to eat it. Edmund would probably be to tough anyways. To make a long story short the arrogant, fat bird has taken up permanent residence on my couch and table.

It's been a long few days...Edmund hasn't let up. When he's quiet I get scared >.<

Edmund didn't stir.

Anna wasn't home, but the time had come. The turkey's corpse was as dead as a doornail, nothing but a pile of feathers and bone, tissue that would never move again.

He'd died just after Anna had left to run the mornings errands, collapsed beside her bed. One moment he'd been picking at the carpet, the next he was nothing more than a corpse, stiff and cold.

The boy waited, arms crossed, sitting on top of Anna's bed. He looked around the apartment, already familiar with his environment. Was the girl ever going to come home? What on earth was taking so long?

The turkeyboy was impatient as he tested out his new wings, stretching them out only to find theim imperfect. They were small things and he was a thin one - not at all like his round, chubby self.

Maybe it was Mother Natures way to apologize for all the times he'd been shot at. The memories he'd held as a turkey were slowly starting to fade, as if they were nothing but a dream long since forgotten. They were fresh now - but he'd struggle to remember his life and instinct as the days and months would eventually pass.

Leaning back on the bed, the boy gave a sigh. "She'd better not take -" He stopped, turning to glare at the front door.

Anna pushed her way through, grumbling about forgetting the letters she had gone out to send. "Way to go, Anna, way to -"

"It's about bloody time!" The turkey barked, interrupting the girl's complaints.

Anna stopped, looking up at the winged, older-looking boy. Her eyes turned as wide as plates as her mind struggled to grasp the concept. She hardly realized there was a turkey collapsed in her bedroom - she could worry about that later.

"Ed-Edmund?"

The turkey shook out his hair, running his long fingers through it. Wasn't he the best? "What sort of name is that anyway? The name, girly, is Gamvial." He put stress on his name, not giving the girl time to protest or question.

"Now I'm hungry - whatever is there to eat in this place?"

((Your boy is home - congratulations!))

"Edmund? Where are you?" Anna stuck her head into the messy room that served as her charge's space.

Gamvial briefly looked up from his book "Gamvial" he corrected and turned back to the words. If she couldn't even remember his name like hell he was going to pay attention to her tiny whims. He flexed his wings under him trying to find a comfortable position.

Annabelle rolled her eyes, "sorry Gammy...it's dinner time." She shook her head and ran fingers through her hair. He could be so fustrating!

"Gammy?!?!" Gamvial dropped his book on the bed and stared at the woman he considered his charge. His eyes became frosty "Alright Anny I'm coming"

Anna glared and stuck her tongue out as the bird boy brushed past her. "Anna if you please" She told him, her voice very prim and proper.

"Of course...how silly of me" Gam shot back as he sat down "Perhaps you would perfer princess...or your majesty"

"No i reserve that one for you" She sat as well and reached for the potatos...it was going to be a long night...
