PixieofDestruction Purple is my favorite color. Its like the female counterpart to blue in my head HAHA. I think pink is too frilly and purple is feminine to me, yet masculine enough to not be TOO girly. Plus its super cute and underrated. At My High School It was VERY Common To See Almost 1/3 Of The School Wearing SOMETHING Violet & That Wasnt Even A school Color >.<
Even On accident I Wore Something Violet
& Thats saying Something...Lol

Oh, isn't it?Actually the dictionary is just a reference for commonly used "words", it does not mean they are real or proper it just means its used a lot, so it then makes it into the dictionary. I pitty tha foo'

Generally if its in the dictionary it is real as it is then a 'word' that has meaning which is accessible by many O:
Who is to say what is real and what is not anyways?
For a popular slang word can often become a word that is then accepted (usually in the future as more people use it) and is it real then? Was it real? Etc~

Violet Is The Correct Term
Though I Think Purple Was Made Up For Children Who Couldnt Pronounce "Violet"
But Then Again, I Could Be Wrong

Violet is indeed the correct term~
And it might have been...
Too bad its not very easy to figure out what caused a word to become a word with its meaning and such.

I like green, blue, and purple.
I've always been more partially to cool colors because I'm a cool cat. cool
Naw, it's just because they are chill and calming and I look good wearing them. xD
But I love all colors, in fact orange was my favorite for a while, but that started to bore me.
