I love the book and the movie kamikaze girls oh so dearly. Momoko was a great inspiration to me when I first started out as a lolita (More so the Momoko from the book then the movie). So I'm curious about everyone else's opinions on it.

-C'est la lune qui conduit la danse...-

I love the book, the movie was nice but now I'll easily sleep through it.

One thing that makes me laugh though is when some people mistaken her personality traits by concentrating on all the sweet, decadent things in her life.

I think it's better then the movie, because it puts a lot more emphasis on Lolita and how unsweet momoko REALLY is.

I saw that in HMV, of all places, and have made up my mind that I absolutely must own it. Jane Austin mixed with Zombie Apocalypse...I can't not pick it up. heart

I remember that movie! I drove two states over to go see it, and got some free swag (postcards) for my trouble. heart

I bought the book not too long ago, and the book, as always, is better than the movie. Momoko is supposed to be somewhat self-centered and a little stubborn, but in the book it makes sense because her reasons seem more well-explained. She just came off as a tough girl in the movie.

Did that make sense? I hope so.

The movie wins for visual effect though. Being able to actually see Momoko's beautiful dresses (and her room!) is far better than simply reading about 'a lacy-trimmed dress'.

I read the manga, too, but it wasn't as good as the book or movie. emo

I love the movie, and the book equally. ^__^

I found kamikaze girls when I had first discovered lolita, and I immediately fell in love. I watched kamikaze girls for the fist time on a computer in the house we were staying in on vacation so I was far from home, and couldn't do much about releasing my creative style through sewing.
