I was devastated this morning when I checked my e-mail and saw that not only had the super-awesome David Carradine had died, but that the prevailing theory is that he committed suicide!

I'm gonna be bummed all day now. I think I'll need to have a Carradine fest later (even though all I have are the two Kill Bills and the Danny Phantom episodes he was in).

What did you guys think of him? Am I the only one who thinks he was really awesome?

My dad used to watch Kung Fu a lot back when I was a kid. I don't remember too much about the show, except that there were always flashbacks about him talking to some old monk guy, and some people on the show would be all racist towards him for being Asian, even though he didn't really look all that Asian to me. Was too young to remember much else. But my dad thought it was a great show.

I don't believe he committed suicide, but the Thai police are notorious for wanting to declare any death self-inflicted if at all possible. It saves them the trouble of actually having to look for a murderer. Back when I lived there I used to joke that Thailand was the #1 vacation spot to commit suicide because of all the tourists who seemed to travel there just for the purpose of jumping out of their hotel room...

... not meaning to ruin the mood... but... who is he?!

I used to love that show kung fu. I wanna go make a bamboo flute now.
