The Beginning

The first thing he was aware of was of being grabbed and forcefully pulled towards this... person. He blinked in surprise, focusing on the one in front of him. He stared at the hat, the checked band catching his eyes. then he reached out to touch the fully bits of bright color the twitched around him.
The eyes watching him narrowed in sudden irritation. "Psycho witch. I should have known she was up to something."
"Psycho?" he repeated drawing out the word as he tested it.
Valkon frowned as he glanced around for the others. There had been three of them. Loa had grabbed one. He barely saw a bone skull on its head. The second was the one with him, a hat not unlike his own. The third had sped away in another direction and away from both he and Loa. There would be time to look for him later, but who knew what she would teach the one with her.
For a long moment he stared at the little lantern in front of him. If he had died and become this, then that portion of himself that she had taken had created this one. If that was so, then he had no life before this moment.
Psycho. That's all he could think. Loa was psycho to do this without his permission.
"Yes. Your Momma is a psycho." Valkon grumbled, folding his arms. "What am I going to do with you?"
"Momma? Psycho. Do with you?" he mimiced causing Valkon to sigh again.
"I guess we need to figure this out. I'm your... father." Valkon watched him a moment, suddenly sure it was a boy. "Alright, Hawke. That will be your name." Falcon had been his, so something similar would work.
"Hawke? Hawke... Hawke." he nodded slightly as he reached out to touch the fluffy violet tails again. "Father?"
"Yes. Father. It means you are my son and I'll take care of you until you can." Valkon replied reaching down to pick the small being up. "Let's go home."
Loa may be psycho, but what else was he going to do now? This little one could not be left alone. He had no previous life to guide him by. And Valkon had revenge to plot on her. He'd make her pay in some way. He was tired of her manipulation. Maybe it was time to introduce Hawke to Chronos and warn Chronos about her madness.
Hawke curled up against his newfound father. He blinked sleepily and almost feeling safe though he had no clue what that was. But it was warm and he cooed tiredly.
