-.- Two newbie trumpets are driving me insane! I can't keep control of them and they just wont quit! What kind of section leader can't keep control. crying Its making me so mad. I'm normally really nice but these kids are about to break me. What should I do so I don't go all a** hole trumpet stereo type? I don't want to be that.

well it seems sort of "a** hole trumpet stereo type" of you to want to control them. a section leader doesn't control the section. sure, they are supposed to make sure the section knows how to behave and knows how to play their parts, but they don't CONTROL them. that's why they call it a section LEADER not a section DICTATOR >_> just relax. if they don't want to listen, let THEM get in trouble. all you can do is let them know that they are acting inappropriately and ignore their juvenile behavior.

I just now started trying to control them only to keep them calm. I'm not trying to be a dictator but they just wont stop and my Bd isn't around my section much during the day so they just go nuts when he isn't around. I have tried the just ignoring them thing but it just wont quit. They are going to make me rip my hair out.

talk to your bd at some time and tell him/her you're having this problem. ask other sections how they keep control. if all this falis become the a**hole trumpet player

I agree with Eversoris. It seems like the best thing to do.

I don't think ignoring them is going to help...lol if we're talking about stereotypes, tell them their acting like freshmen or something and maybe try warning them you're about to flip a b!+ch on them...i dunno.
