So my a**-hat brother and I have been going back and forth about wether if homosexuality is a choice or not. I know its alot more complicated than that (even though I can't tell you excatly how being gay works lol) but my brother seems convinced that its nothing more than a matter of choice, and hes had some pretty lame arguments so far. His most recent was someting like this:
"So you look at porn right? And you can search what you want, so you can choose to watch gay or straight porn, thus you can choose to be straight or gay."
it probably wouldve went like that if I hadn't had made him shut up because I was eating dinner and didn't want to hear his s**t stare

Well, in away, it is a choice. :s Cause I think the whole 'gay gene' theory was shot down. But like, who you fall in love with, there's a reason for it. It's not an accident, no matter what anyone says, everyone's in your life for a reason. c:
The porn thing, yeah, no. Of course you choose that. It's not the same thing, at alllll.

This is one of the things straight and narrow people will never get. It just feels right when you're following your heart. And my heart likes women, not men. I was with a guy before and it didn't feel right. I kept getting shot down for the way my heart was leaning. Ah, but you know this. Maybe there was a reason in there somewhere that could help.
As for porn: Hell, I used to like yaoi. But I found out who I really was. For a while I was being suppressed for fear of being rejected or though of as "one of those teens having a gay phase". The hardest part was to explain to my family that it wasn't a phase.

i donno much cause I'm still trying to get a grip that I'm gay not straight after I've had 7 gf.. i didn't choose to be gay.
as for the porn? sum straight people like gay stuff
like straight guys tend to like lesbians.. well my friends anyway sweatdrop

I just had a thought. Okay, so straight people watch straight porn right? Doesn't that make everyone a little queer? I mean, you're watching a guy and a girl. So you see both. However, I don't think that would roll with your brother. XD

if he thinks everything is a choice. why not try exploiting that to the extreme to help illustrate your point?
I'm sure scenarios will pop up where would be fun to tease him about it. Although he may think your being serious judging by how dull he seems in your description of him. lol
There may be planty of intelligent way to explain this to him but the most simplistic will be likely to pay off. There is complexity and efficiency in simplicity as contradictory as that statement may seem. : / eh, if all else fails jus bludgeon him with a large book whilst yelling, "Turn Gay dammit! Why wont you turn gay?! It should be easy@!!!@!@!@" scream .........HUff huff huff............... gonk .......... eek ............................*poke** poke* neutral
