What do you consider to be intelligence? Do you think any one thing makes someone intelligent?

I would say it could be a variety of skilled in one subject, or good in a broad range of subjects. There is no point when you become intelligent. If you think about it, everyone could be, just in their own way.

I think it depends on what area you want to consider it in. You could be talking about awareness or skill in a subject or even just the ability to quickly figure something out.

Maybe I'm being too specific?

I believe it's all relative to a certain skill or awareness, like one could be book smart, street smart, or pop culture smart. Of course in my daily life I consider anyone that can think for themselves smart.

Intelligence is difficult to quantify. There is no clear cut off between intelligent and unintelligent. a while ago a read a book titled Physics of the Impossible by one of my favorite physics authors, Michio Kaku. In a chapter on robots he describes how robots with computer brains can do millions of mathematical calculations a second yet scientists still can not approximate a cockroaches ability to navigate around randomly place objects in a room. So what's more intelligent, a computer or a cockroach? It depends on if you want to do advanced calculus or not get steppen on I suppose.
