Kenshin asked that I make a sticky about how I got clan chat working again for me. I make no claims to be an expert, but if it helped me, it may help someone else.

First, go to your Friends list on the main. Then click the Ignored tab. Make sure GaiaGuildBot is not on this list. If it is, unignore it.

Then start GIM from one of the pages on the main site.






Make sure GaiaGuildBot is on your Buddy List:



If it isn't, check to make sure it's not blocked in GIM. As far as I know this is a GIM-only block and you can't see or set this from the main site or zOMG (if I'm wrong, someone WILL correct me and I'll correct this). Click on the Settings Button (see picture above).

Then go to Privacy Settings:



And make sure GaiaGuildBot isn't blocked:



If you had to make any of these changes, don't give up hope if clan chat isn't working immediately. It took a couple of hours for the changes to percolate through the system for me.

GaiaGuildBot had a huge bug where it would spam you with windows opening all the time, and I have a feeling a number of people like me blocked it to save our sanity, then forgot all about what we did because Clans were pretty broken then too.

I hope this helps someone else too.

Then TURN IT OFF!! Dah!

Go to your gim and click settings (don't you love the edits wink )


And uncheck the enable pop up option


Tah dah! You are now free from pop up spams! You can also do this through preferences.
