"Can be a very prized position." Jade finished before Ahiru could say any more. Every now and then, the older woman was seeing that this child might be harder on herself than anyone else. Well at least she went out and did things for herself.
Stepping over the last of the mud, Jade started to walk beside the young girl yet again. "We had a some beautiful ducks on the pond. Pure white and some black ones. I think you would have liked it there." With a smile and a look to the sky, Jade hoped to keep her new friend's mind light.
"Your brother loves and worries about you. Why don't we go put his mind at ease then and you can show me those beautiful Eevees."

Ahiru's cheeks flushed a little more at Jade's conversation about pretty ducks near her house and she bit her lower lip, almost to prevent herself from saying how much she hated the creatures. Farfetch'd was one of her least favorite pokemon in the world for several reasons, mainly because she was being compared to it, yet people still seemed to speak to her and think she might have a kinship because of her name.
Instead she merely smiled and nodded, a childish look of interest in her eyes and on her lips. She didn't want to be rude, not at all, so she agreed.
"That does sound nice. I've never really bean to a lake before or even a pond, so that's something I...would like to see some time."
She picked up her pace a little as the pair neared the edge of the park, a small path leading down what looked like a bare road for a few miles. There was a spot on the distance, presumed to be her home, and Ahiru started down the trail towards it.
"My brother likes me well enough I guess and I really like him too. When I get my first partner I want it to be a pokemon he can ride, so we can travel together."

Following the young girl along the path, Jade went over in her mind the thousand and one possible ways her family could react to their little girl bring her by. While she hoped for the best, a strange feeling said it might be interesting.
"So maybe a Pontya?" She asked hearing the last part. Unable to hold back a smile, Jade thought back to a few years back when she first road as well.
"Does her brother want his own pokemon even if he can't travel?" A simple question she hoped would not cause the girl to turn anymore read than she always was.

"I...really don't know. He doesn't speak much about wanting to raise a pokemon, of his own but he read a lot of travel books. I know he wants to go places but he can't because he's hurt and because he takes of me. If...if we could travel together, then he can do both right?"
Ahiru stopped for a moment and bent down, pulling a rock from inside her sandal. It had gotten there thanks to how she drug her feet when she walked rather then the road itself, and she frowned at it as she tossed the pebble aside. The small dot on the horizon was drawing nearer and as it came more into focus, so did a figure sitting out front in what looked like a chair.
". . ..Oops."
The little girl moved and ducked behind Jade, an odd motion to do considering this was her house, but it seemed appropriate considering the withering look that was on the young man's face who crossed his arms where he sat.
"I think I did forget to tell him where I was."

Before Jade could even react, Ahiru was behind her acting like she had just seen the devil himself. It took those blue eyes a couple of glances to make out what she was so scared of. Yet, when they rested on the boy not far in front of them, Jade could almost see why Ahiru was scared. There he was, looking a not at all happy with his sister who was now using the older woman as a shield.
"Didn't...didn't tell him?" Jade sighed out as she looked towards the sky. To be young and forgetful again. It all seemed too easy. "Ahiru, you really should go say something to him..." She started before looking over at the male again.
Picking up her hands in a peaceful manner, Jade tried her luck. "I hope you don't mind. Your sister helped me out at that park and wanted to show me the Eevee's your family breeds. It wasn't until now that I found out you did not know where she was."

The young man in the chair looked up as his sister and an unknown woman approached, and a scowl crossed his face as he watched the ash gray head duck behind the stranger as if she were using her as a shield. It was silly to him for Ahiru to do such a thing, but then again she had gone off and left a mountain of chores behind. Not to mention she didn't say where she was going or when she'd be back, but that was almost typical of her.
"Oh, thank you for bringing her home then. You're most welcome to come inside if you'd like since you've come all this way, and it would be rude of us to not show you hospitality."
He turned and looked behind the woman once more as Ahiru dared to peek her head around, his shoulders tensing as he mouthed a small threat to her about dealing with her problems later.
"So Ms. Jade, you can come inside now. If my brother says it's okay, then it's okay and that also means Mama and Papa aren't home. Not that they...wouldn't let you in, but they sometimes make a big deal about things."
Ahiru stepped to the side of Jade and made her way forward slowly, glancing over her shoulder to see if the woman would indeed follow.
"We also need...to fix your hand."
