I think i'm going to be sick.

Sweet mother of mercy, how can someone be so filled with hatred?

Okay, since no one who reads this (with the exception of Rob) is going to know what happened, I might as well explain.

My dear ol' friend Paige. The one i've mentioned before, is a full blown homophobe now.

See, Rob, Paige, and I typically chat like everyday. And so, basically, today when I was setting up a chat. I decided it might be fun to invite another person too. So, I did. But, Rob didn't get the chat invite at first, well, anyway, long story short. The other guy I invited started calling Rob a f**. For no apparent reason. (Okay, so he was 'fake' hitting on him, but still!) And he said it over and over and then was all, 'You know what? Goodbye.' and i'm thinking 'Good riddance.' You know? And then, the first thing Paige says once he leaves is 'Awh, that poor guy...'. At first, I thought she was referring to Rob, and so, i'm thinking 'Damn right.' And then she says she's sticking up for the other guy.

She's all like 'Homophobia is a fear. So, it's not their fault.' Now, at this, I like, blew up. But, I tried to remain calm. I was hoping that she hadn't meant what she'd said. So, after about five minutes of asking her if she really meant what she's said, she still stood strong on the matter. She said that I was actually wrong for thinking homophobia was wrong.

And I said that gay people end their own lives because of the taunting and sometimes physical violence inflicted on them as a result of this fear. That convicts get less jail time than they deserve because the judges believe that they were justified because of this 'fear'.

She then said that if someone is going to end their own life because of that, than their pathetic, that she gets made fun of all the time, and she'd never kill herself because of something like that.

Now, I will admit, I am totally against suicide, but, at this point, I was completely enraged.

So, I said. Then, do you believe that people who hate black people are justified and should be pitied? That, if I went up to a black person on the street and called them a....(well, you know what word I mean) that that would be okay?

And she said, 'Well, if people are raised to hate people like that...'

And then Rob said something about parents kicking their children out just because they're gay. And she said, 'That's rediculous, people can't do that...'

o.O O.O Wtf? Paige, where have you been?

And Rob and I were both like 'Yeah Paige, it happens ALL the time.'

And she's like 'That's stupid. If that happened the police could solve it...'

Oh yes, the loads and loads of gay-supporting police would just jump for joy at the chance to defend a gay child. -sarcasm- Get real Paige.

So, anyway, now i'm absolutely fuming, and on the verge of tears.

It's because of people like this that I (and thousands of other women, and men) may never be able to get married.

I took this rant from my LJ. But, I just wanted to know what other people thought, like, am I over-reacting?

Well I actually dont blam you for being pissed. She could have at least taken up for him..

But everyone has their veiws. You just have to try your best to make your point and hope that they understand. It's really not getting worked up over it because change isn't easy for most people. You know what I mean?

I thought you and Paige settled this already?
