Station, if I may call you so, have you ever dabbled into working with a familiar of sorts? Some sort of magical or psychic companion? The shaking and the encounters sound somewhat similar to what I've experienced long ago.

Yeah. To a fault, it sort of reminds me when I was being 'haunted' as it felt at the time, by a familiar that is no longer with me. He sort of up and disappeared a few months back. But that's off topic.
Have you at all tried to contact the apparition? Even so simply as talking to it? if not, I recommend getting a simple digital recorder and turning it on and then just try talking to it. It may clear up some things. And that being the simplest way I can think of for a 'beginner' to get into contact.
