My family and I all sort out our garbage and use more eco-friendly energy units like solar powered sun panels. I also always pick up trash and place it in a garbage bin.

I love gardening, so I find planting trees a useful way to improve the environment. I also make sure to plant native plants. That usually means you won't have to devote so much attention to them, and the plants can usually adapt to water conditions, saving you water and time.
Recycling is definitely a huge thing with me.
I do the obvious stuff like taking short showers, not letting the water run, and picking up any litter I see.
I also work on a farm. ALL the animals there are rescued, and we let little children come ride the horses for $2 a go. That helps raise money for the animals and organizations like the ASPCA, GreenPeace, and likewise.

i do all of my school's recycling every week, i pick up litter whenever i see it, and i use fluorescents instead of incandescents at home. also, i do everything that everyone should already be doing: RRR, taking shorter showers, turning the lights off, and not leaving the sink running.

Well, I used to do more but since I've been cooped up in my dorm room doing homework for 90% of my free time I mostly just use energy-saving techniques such as:

-Turn my powerstrips off when I'm not using them (thank the Lord we hardly watch the TV because that one's high up on the wall! XD)
-Try not to leave my laptop on all day.
-Turn the lights off during the day or when I leave the room
-put on a jacket and some socks when I'm cold or get under the covers for a nap instead of turning on the (OLD) heating system.
-Take short showers (or wash my hair in the sink instead... though I get some funny looks doing that) and don't leave the water on while brushing teeth or washing hands/face
-I recycle everything I can! smile lol
-when I'm not late for class (or when I'm on my way back from class) I'll pick up trash that's on the ground. smile
-When I see a squashed plant under something heavy that looks like it needs perking up I help it! smile

When I was in high school and middle school I took care of a lot of stray cats and dogs and chickens (my neighbors back home run a mill and c**k fights >:[ )
I did that until my Junior year when my parents and sister set traps for Momma and Kitten (yes those were their names! XD) and took them away one morning before I woke up. :[ I'll take care of strays again when I have my own place though! :] It'll be Stray City again! :]

Oh! and my parents had a good reason for taking them away. I didn't like it but I think it was a good reason... I just can't remember, and my dad says he asked the shelter and they said that Kitten got a good home. :3
