Hi there, everybody.
Last year, I had the pleasure of going to Japan with a group of people from several different colleges in the mid-west region on a summer study program. We stayed at the Kanazawa Institute of Technology (KIT) in beautiful Kanazawa.
At the end of our stay, we had to make videos for one of our classes and were given a lot of freedom on what to film. My group chose the comedic route, while the more gifted in our group took more artistic and meaningful approaches.
I'm posting them here both for everyone to enjoy as entertainment, but also because they may give some insight into what it's like living in Japan for those who haven't been.
Made by Jamie Kleeman, Richard Ou, and myself. Given that none of us were artistically gifted nor did we have many ideas on what to do, we decided to make a video of comedic misinformation; basically, everything in the video is either false or grossly nonsensical. Forgive the poor video and audio quality; none of us knew how to make videos to begin with. You will find that as the video progresses, we stay less on topic and become way more outrageous. Good for a laugh (hopefully).
Made by Chris Trott, Amy Kawabata, and Daniel Soledad. This is really quite fascinating to watch. A series of photographs taken in different places give hints to the daily rituals we students went through and also about Japanese life in general. It took a lot of time to make this video, and I'm quite impressed with how well it came out. Chris even made the music from scratch.
If you want to know more about the videos or my study program or just what life is like there in general, feel free to ask questions. I'd love to share!
