Here is where key descriptions of places will be written as they come about in the story.
Outer Gates of Castle Orion: The city gates were decorated with marvelous banners. The city guards at the gate were in marvelous armor, shinning brightly in the sun, with golden accents. Underneath this armor, the wore long, fine, silver hauberks, with blue robes underneath. There was a steady flow of travelers into the city, and quite a few leaving the gates.
Great Hall of Castle Orion: There was another set of large micronethium doors that led into a massive chamber. This room was used as an antechamber. Of course, it was one of four rooms of the main citadel that was open to the general public. A flight of stairs lead up to the main Great Hall of Castle Orion. The collosal hall had a black floor, as smooth as the most well-polished glass, though it did not feel slick, and was predominantly what appeared to be white marble. Azure pillars held up the roof. Rich tapestries decorated the walls, and the entire room had a light, airy feel. At the far end of the room, the floor was raised five feet. Dark wood tables of marvelous craftmanship lined the room, situated lengthwise, and another long table sat upon the raised portion of the room. Chairs lined the tables, and the entire place seemed well-suited for feasts and the like.
Valley of the Sun and Moon from the Citadel of Castle Orion: They were on a high tower, and the castle was in a valley. Mountains even larger than those of Dracolt Ara arose around on nearly every angle. Away to the north, the glisten of water could be seen. The city itself spread out beyond the outer wall, all neatly organized, but with the olderparts clearly standing out from the new. The trees all glistened with silver specs in the distance. The sky was bright blue, and the clouds drifted across the its azure sea. The city was primarily made of what looked like white marble, with sea-blue tiled roofs. Sun glistened off the tips of towers and the sound of musical water came from fountains all around the city. This music blended with the melodies of those speaking the native Escaran tounge.
Inside the Citadel, from the Outside to Raven's Chambers: At the top, there was a landing, and a large door made of a sort of metal. It had two dragons wrapped around each other worked into the doorway. Around the door frame was a celtic knot pattern. There were sconces, but instead of holding a torch or candle, they held a crystal that was giving off a shade rather than light. The door also had gems worked into it.
Once past this door, there was a long hall. The walls and vaulted ceilign were made of what looked like white marble, and the floors were black panels set into frames of the same stone. There were magnificent tapestries on the walls, all expertly done, and wonderful in color. At the intersections of the hall was a large compass row. The two went up a couple flights of stairs, and took several turns before coming to a huge door. It was of dark wood, inset with gems, and worked metal. Around the door frame was the same celtic knot pattern as outside. It was arched, and the pillars holding up the arch were of a blue stone. Raven placed his hand on the door. A handle appeared, and he opened it. He said a few words as he passed inside in his native tongue. His voice was no less wonderful and melodic than that of Fiona, though deeper and more mysterious.
Upon entering, there was a large, dark red couch facing towards a wall of windows overlooking the mountains. Beyond the windows was a balcony much like the first platform. The high ceiling seemed to be of pure black stone, slightly curved towards the center, yet as one gazed up at it, pinpoints of light became visible, and grew until they danced like stars upon the night sky. The walls were also of white stone. Tapestries hung on these walls too. Flanking the couch were chairs, matching in style and color the couch. A large, dark wood table that was richly carved lay in the center of these. Underneath this was a large area rug. Along the right wall was a small kitchen area. The cabinets were of dark wood, and also richly carved. There were three doors leaving the room. One was obviously the one they had come into. These doors were dark, elegantly carved wood as well. It all was magestic, yet graceful. Somehow, the dark colors in the room did not make the room appear dark, and light flooded the room through the open windows.
Hall of Water, Castle Orion Citadel: A large fountain resembling a waterfall fell into a gap in the floor, and along the edges of the Hall, a pool of water was visible underneath the platform. The roof, and platform, were supported by large compound collumns that held great, gracefull arches. The hall was white, and the light of the water danced around the walls, just as the fountain in the outpost they had visited the day before. Song of the Escaran tounge was in the air, as many of them were talking joyfully with one another.
Garden of Oltimare, Castle Orion Citadel: The garden was in a bowl shape, with a round pool circling the guarden. In the middle was a large snow-white pillar of stone. It was cold to the touch. The flowers of the garden were all white. Some had long green leaves at the base, some had star-like blooms, and some seemed to glitter like snow. The Garden was set where the citadel narrowed into a cross-like shape. There were large trees similar to white sakuras set around the garden. Paths led through the garden, and despite its size, one never forgot that the pillar was the focal point of the beautiful garden. Benches were placed at various parts of the paths.
Hall of Stars, Castle Orion Citadel: The hall had a low roof, much like the dining room, but was still taller than most roofs back in Silwaniar's home. The light was dim in the room, and the roof was black, held up with whitish pillars. Dancing amoung the high parts of the hall were small lights. These lights ocasionally floated down till they were just out of reach. At the end of this hall was a raied dais. There were Escarans now gathering into this hall, taking seats around the room. Raven lead Silwaniar to two seats near the front of the hall, and sat down. The chairs were of dark wood, and had lush red cushions. The wood was, in Escaran manner, richly carved, yet still delicate and graceful.
City of Castle Orion: Tall white buildings stood proudly with elaborate architecture and simple black or blue pillars. Carts of traders rolled down the streets as pedestrians talked melodically and happily. A dragon and its rider occasionally flew over-head. Guards in blue-and-silver armor patrolled the streets. Marvelous goods stood out near the doors of shops, and in the windows of merchants. Song and occasional racket came from the taverns, and the whole city was quite lively
Store of Dragonlord and Bladelord Imalad: Raven turned onto a small side road, and came to store that wasn't as extravagant on the outside. He went inside, calm and quiet. There were many clothes around the shop, and many different styles. There were silk-like dresses, velvet cloaks, extavagant boots, simple leather tunics, sturdy travel cloaks, simple tall boots, and everything in between. The storekeeper was a small, elderly looking Escaran. His long grey hair pulled back, and a leather cord around his head. His clothes were simple and somber, and he had an aura of humility, yet a sense that there was more to him than meets the eye.
Hall of Twilight: Within the inner wall, there was another large, ornate doorway. Once this was passed, they were in a large hall with double arched collumns. The stone combined black and tan marble, and the temple was divided into three sections. The hall was at the same time both bright and dark, and tiny lights drifted through the room fading in and out. In one section lay simple beds, and other furnishings for pilgrims, opposite of this was a small library where people were studying texts. In the center of this marvelous, however, was rows of cushions with equisite books in front of them, and a small dais. Behind the dais was the Orion seal, and other emblems. Most notably, there was a woman in simple white garments singing a long song that seemed to go on indefinitely. The lyrics were of similar style to what Raven had sang the other night, and the tune was the same. Her voice, however, seemed far more inspiring than his song had. Upon the cushions sat Escarans following along and singing along quietly. They were extremely diverse, from knights in glistening armor and mercury-like capes, to farmers in weather-worn clothes, to merchants in fine clothes, to lords and ladies with their elaborate garments decorated with their respective crests
From the main city of Castle Orion to the Harbor and Skyport: When they arrived at the mountain's base, there was a large gate. They walked through this and went through halls with massive vaulted ceilings, and lights floating through the massive passageways. Within these halls were marketplaces, with branches that lead to various halls within the mountain. After a while, the two came to another gate that lead back outside. They stood overlooking another part of the castle. A great wall extended from the city into the water, where a large gate that looked as though it more of the wall itself stood open. In this section were simpler lookign buildings, though this part of the city was just as busy. Upon the right, a tall tower glistened white as the sun hit it. It seemed to reflect the sun's light down upon the city, but in a way that was more brilliant and also more soothing. Its top was almost as tall as the citadel. The road that was now before them led down to a large bustling harbor. All of the buildings were terraced, with windows facing the harbor. Another elaborate manor-like building with the same style of architecture as the citadel stood near the gate. Upon the left, a path lead up higher onto the mountain, where a large terrace was filled with vessels of many types. This was the Skyport of the Solar Moon, one of the greatest skyports in Escar. Raven, however, led the way down to the harbor.
Temple of Starbirth (Hoshimoto), Ryuujima: A large gate, much like the Torii gates, stood at the top of some stairs. In fact, at first glance, it seemed much like a Shinto Shrine. Behind the temple, though, stood a large stone, rising above the trees. Eight pointed stars decorated much of this temple, and its metal was silvery micronitium. There were two paths on either side of the temple. The one on the left led down to a garden designed around a small pond. The other path led to a vast rock garden.
Sword's Crest: The Canal Gates were massive gates situated outside the walled Canal District. The district was responsible for the majority of the city's prosperity. The gate was elaborately designed, with great banners flying high, and colorful detail work. After passing through this, they travelled through the Canal District. The buildings here were mostly one or two floors. Occasionally, a three floor building stuck out, but these were rare. Much of this district was designed around sailors, merchants, and business in general. The actual canal, a waterway large enough to allow even large warships through, cut across the northern portion of the Canal District, with large harbors on either side for ships to stop. Beyond this lay a few streets, mostly shops for commodities at sea. Then stood the massive walls of the origninal bounds of the city. The was was powerfuly designed, with virtually no weak-points. The gate was tall, but narrow, only large enough for two merchant carts to go through at a time. The buildings inside were taller, several of which were tall enough to be called towers. An even taller wall was visible to the west, and the massive keep of Sword's crest. To the northeast sat a colossal, artificial hill. It was built up against the city's wall, where several hangers were accessible to smaller airships. The flat top was designed to allow larger airships to land, though a tower stood from this that took the same role as air-traffic control towers in Terralin airports. The whole city was bustling, and could not be doubted as a major city.
Guild District of Castle Orion: This was the Guild District. Massive buildings, resembling over-grown palaces or even colossal temples housed the workings of the guilds, as well as members who had yet to be able to afford their own lodging or supplies for their trade. They varied based on the function of their guild, but were invariably ornate and elaborate. The one that Imalad headed to was the most elaborately decorated of them all, though not the most impressive to behold. Gold and gems decorated the facade, where the building itself was made of the finest of stone. To be honest, it looked to be an over-worked imitation of the largest of noble's palaces. The lobby was not what one would expect either of a lobby. The massive hall, as large as the Great Hall of the Citadel, if not larger, had many small cells off of it, filled with stores of merchants who did not have the funds to set up their own store outside, while others had carts filled, sometimes over-filled, with goods. Hawkers cried the goods of the merchants. At the far end of the room, a flight of stairs lead up from the center, and a golden sign bearing a stack of coins and a paper cheque stood to the left of the stairs over a gilded door worked with silver. To the right stood a door, with a sign of a blue and silver shield, noting a guard station. This was the Hall of Trade, a major hub of the Merchant's Guild
Castle Orion, during the Festival of Sun and Moon: Imalad nodded, and led the way to the entry hall of the Dragonpetal Inn. He smiled at the keeper, a small, polite and graceful woman clearly from Ryuujima, "Would you be so kind as to send the bill to my store Sumiko?" The woman nodded, replying in her native tongue, and Imalad replied in like. He then led the way down to the Guild Quarter. People fill the streets, and occasional unmarked carriage's and sedan chairs carried those with wealth who did not wish to walk. Others of money rode through the streets on marvelous mounts. The inner city was filled with up-scale businesses, incredible palaces with domes and towers, and other tower-like buildings home to those who liked the views of the cityscape. All were made with white marble, and domes were often made of glittering silver micronithium. The upper city was a blend of this and larger homes of wealthy merchants, storekeepers, high-ranking members of guilds, and military officers. The buildings here, as put forth by city law, were also of white marble, with silver domes and accents. Below this was where Imalad himself lived. He took Selene through the less uniformed city, where the structures were still ornate and extraordinary, but colorful, often with blue marble columns and brightly painted friezes. He took a turn down an alleyway that held less ornate buildings, and entered a small store with a second floor that was not part of the store itself.
He continued here from here to the Lower City. The festivities here were already growing to be a little too open. Women danced with revealingly low-cut dresses with men who's coat revealed a tunic completely undone, or a vest unbuttoned with an unlaced shirt. The inns were even worse, based on what could be seen through open doors. He took a left turn, moving away from the Lower City, towards massive structures that could be seen in the distance, looming over the smaller buildings of the old city. This was the Guild District. Massive buildings, resembling over-grown palaces or even colossal temples housed the workings of the guilds, as well as members who had yet to be able to afford their own lodging or supplies for their trade. They varied based on the function of their guild, but were invariably ornate and elaborate.
