Fish shrugged. Nope, didn't connect. Vale and a little blond kid? Didn't ring any bells.
He thought for a moment. "Not that I know of," he said, and then added, "Why? You asking me out?" Mostly because it seemed funny to him. "'Cuz if you are, sorry, but I'm spoken for."

"Well, that'd be pretty awkward, considering what I'm wearing right now." Writ looked down and presented himself in all his bare glory. Was there some kind of assumption among male godlings that they were all gay? Writ knew that Fish knew him better than that.
"Nah, I'm planning on having a little more fun in Uppers, and I think this scheme might be up your alley. You in?"

"Seeing as I'm pretty sure you like women," said Fish, "I daresay you're not my type." He slid off the top of the washer, a 'try me' look plastered to his face.
"Okay," he said, and meant it. He'd been out of the action too long, and talking about this was making him remember everything he had ever learned about playing. "I'm game. What did you have in mind?"

"Hasn't helped me in this game, I'll tell you that much." Writ sighed, "No women are playing, and the ones that are are a bit too young for me to hang out with without looking like a creeper."
Writ smiled, he knew he could count on Fish, "Something to do with the sewers, got a foggy idea on how to do it, but I think we could figure it out. I mean, you're good with water, right?"

"That's why you date people who aren't playing," shrugged Fish. "Saves the hassle of maybe waking up to them trying to kill you."
He shifted his weight as he pretended to consider the question. "I'm good with water, yeah," he nodded. "Never tried it with raw sewage, though."
He did not mention that he basically had not used his powers at all since the night he killed Ciro. He'd been too scared to try them, but even if Writ was a friend he didn't want to show weakness.

"Well, with these gods, you never know, some girl out there might have a little 'surprise' for you. Won't be waking up after a night with her, I'll tell you that much." Writ chuckled a little, then thought about it. He went silent with the thought. Death by Johnny snipping was not the way to go.
"First time for everything, I'll see you at Uppers around twelve then?"

"I think we could start from First street, and figure it out from there, that sound good?" Writ pulled out his laundry from the dryer as it buzzed, "Probably shouldn't wear your best clothes." He looked at his own clothes and frowned. He should probably get something more for his wardrobe if he didn't want to do this again.

"Right," nodded Fish. "First street, midnight, wear a tux."
He cracked a wry smile, finally beginning to feel his old sense of humor return to him.
"Kidding about the tux part," he assured Writ.
"I don't even own a tux."

"Heh, I got my suit and my afro all pressed and ready in my closet." Writ grinned. The idea was only half formed in his head, but if Fish was willing to help, maybe it'd turn out alright. He put his clothes back on and brushed the lint off of his shoulders.
"See you then." Writ gave Fish a small wave before heading off.
