Milkis thought about it for a few minutes before shrugging. "I normally read. I'm not much for physical activity." He admitted, hoping the girl could come up with something.

"Read? What do you like to read?" She could tell he didn't like talking, but she was interested in him. They couldn't really read for fun, well not the two of them. She looked around the counter for something to do, while she listened.

Smirking, Milkis started to recite, "I'm Nobody! Who are you? Are you Nobody too? Then there's a pair of us! Don't tell, they'd banish us you know. How dreary to be Somebody! How public - like a frog! To tell their name, the live long June, to an admiring bog!" Pausing he added, "Emily Dickinson's I'm Nobody. Do you like Dickinson?

Sally listened as he recited a poem from memory. She smiled and nodded, "That was a really good one." She didn't know any poems or poets off hand. "She sounds like a great poet. Do you know any more?"

"It's my favorite. Emily Dickinson is an amazing writer." He replied before shaking his head. "Unfortunately I don't know any other poems from memory."

"Oh, darn." She would have loved to hear more. "Who else do you like?" She asked it was nice to have someone to talk to. She had wanted to do something, but this was enough. He seemed a bit distracted from his earlier mood as well.

"I enjoy some Whitman." Smiling, he thought of something he hadn't a few minutes previously. "I do have something that you might enjoy." Pausing for effect he asked, "How do you feel about scary stories?"

Laughing hard he nodded his head. "I know lots of scary things. Stories are just one of them." Putting his hand in his pocket, her pulled out a miniature book. "This is from one of the the people who brought us horror as we know today." Holding up the front of the book he smiled saying, "Edgar Allan Poe's complete works. I thought perhaps you'd be interested in a story called the Black Cat." Pausing for effect he began, "For the most wild, yet most homely narrative which I am about to pen, I neither expect nor solicit belief. . ."

After the story was finished Sally sighed. She had been sitting on the edge of her seat and her hand had covered her mouth. "That horrible man, got what he deserved." She then blushed she wasn't supposed to think like that, but he was terrible to the cat. She liked animals.

Milkis shrugged his shoulders, shaking his head. "I think that it's more an analysis of the insane mind. The narrator was probable insane from the very beginning." Shaking his head, Milkis reached out his hand and brushes Salmon's hair. "But yes, he did deserve it.

Sally was interrupted as her caretaker scooped her up. "Bye, nice to meet you! Tell me more stories sometime!" She waved her little stubby arms as she was carried away.
