I was born in 1980. I watched this stuff when it aired, I can honestly say that the quality of the animation and writing of the Generation One cartoon was hit-or-miss at best.
Sure, some of it is good stuff. It kicked the crap out of Hanna-Barbera's Go-Bots 'toon. (Even though the voice of Cy-Kill actually TOPS Welker's Megatron any day.) But seeing it on a pedestal amuses the hell out of me. xd

Although Rhino messed up a lot of things in their remasted version I don't see the point of getting any of the G1 stuff again. Not on DVD and not right now.

This is purely for people who's missed the first and second wave of the DVDs that are rarely on shelves anymore and for the collectors who must have the box of the matrix. Personally I won't buy it again as I have it already.

I might buy it depending on how much it cost. I am missing a couple of seasons but I normally hate to double dip so it'll depend on price.

I think you can go to Futureshop or Best Buy and order it from their movies section of the store.

I would argue that point. The writing for Beast wars was aimed at a similar audience as G1, but with subplots and far better skill. G1 is what I grew up on- but even I can admit that it had shortcomings. Beast Wars is just as 'kiddie' with purile humor, but revitalized the lagging giant of TFs.
