Kartik had taken a Buddah position, with legs crossed, middle fingers pressed against thumbs, and tail fanned out. His breathing was in sync with his heartbeat and he looked as though he was one with nature. However, if Jerikoda were to approach him, her ears would pick up the soft sounds of slumber. The kitsune had fallen asleep during his mediation! He was still so tired and yet he looked perfectly at peace.... until his head dropped to his chest. He had fallen asleep right there, just like that. This should have been a warning sign to his hostess of his dedication to finding his center... or dedication in general to anything. It barely existed over his carnal needs of sleep.

Jerikoda watched him sleeping for a wail. Then she slowly moved farther down the path. She walked slowly but moved on father up along the path to guard from anyone else disturbing his rest. She sighed wondering for the first time about him. He was for sure an interesting person but that could mostly be from the cultural differences. She wondered what it would be like to travel to his home town. She did not think she would fit there regardless of what he said. She was not one to be with people. That must be why she lived here a series of lakes that were referred to as the suicide lakes or the lakes of sorrow. She gave a yawn and wail waiting started to gather some herbs and fungi to dry for later use. She could tell the clouds could not keep their rain back for more than an hour or so. But Kartik should be done with his nap by then.

It wasn't until about 10 minutes later when Kartik actually fell forward on his face that he jumped up and brushed himself off. He yawned. "Oops. Forgive me, Ancestors." A fist was made and pressed against a hand erect to the heavens and he bowed. Then he took up his katana and took in a deep breath. His hand that held the sheathe of the sword flicked the hilt up and his free hand dashed quickly to the hilt, pulling it swiftly across the front in a circle fashion, other hand tossing the sheathe to his side as if there was an opponent lunging to his right. His body twisted around to follow after the sword's motion before his other hand joined onto the hilt and he slashed down in a sideways motion. Just as quickly his hand twisted the blade and pulled upward with all his might. His footwork, and arm movements were one. Each motion match the breeze and it would have been a quick, painful death for anyone standing too close. His eyes were that of a merciless killer, and tails close to his body. Finally after several well executed movements, he took in a breath and retrieved his sheathe. Replacing the sword back in its protective casing, Kartik quickly glanced around to see if anyone was nearby.

As much as Jerikoda would have loved to watch Kartik's practice she was busy gathering her materials as well as guarding from anyone coming down the path. She had almost fallen into her own little trace. Her ears flicked at any sound that was too deliberate but she did not startle. It was as if being almost always alone in this place she was used to most natural noises. Even when a light crack of thunder sounded above her she did not leap in shock.

From where Kartik had ended he would be able to see her silhouetted form raise with a handful of flora. Her hair was once against bundled up and under her puffy cap. She looked very much the same as the day he had first met her though this time her dress was free of color other than white, grey and black.

As he came upon her, Kartik smiled gently and approached with his sword sheathed at his side in his hand. "Good morning again Miss Jerikoda. I apologize if I was poorly mannered this morning. I hope I did not scare away your customer. May I ask what it is you are gathering? May I help you pick whatever it is, and carry anything back?" He wanted to be useful and helpful, especially after being grumpy. He felt responsible if he chased away a customer which he was certain he had done.

Jerikoda looked up and gave a bow of her head, "Good morning to yourself Kartik sir. Do not worry she just needed a fertility draft. You did not scare her away. I am sorry that we bothered you." She stood up and looked at the rosemary, witch hazel, and ginger roots in her hands. "I think I can manage. Thank you for your offer those. I will cook your some breakfast soon and we can go and check on the boy in town and his bite if you would like. You can get to see more of the town then." She put the rosemary and ginger in one pocket of her dress and the witch hazel in the other before kneeling down to gather a bit more. "You seem much more at ease after your meditation and it seem your work out." She was attempting at small talk and hoped she did not sound as awkward as she sounded to her own ears.

His head tilted a little, blinking. "Huh. Fertility draft..." He shook his head in disapproval but just smiled and accepted it as something different to his own thoughts. He bowed his head, "You had not bothered me, so please do not apologize." He figured a way to tie the sheathed sword to his waist before he held out his hands. "At least allow me to carry these back for you please?" He wanted to be useful. He smiled. "It would be nice to see more of your hometown." He then looked up at the sky. "I was able to rest my soul a little more." He didn't want to lie but he couldn't just openly admit his transgressions to her. "Did all go well with you and the woman? Is she a regular customer of yours?"

Watching his face Jerikoda found him even more puzzling. "I am glad that I had not been a bother to you. If you really must then thank you." She said as she handing him over the herbs. "I am glad that you have found at least a small measure of peace here with me. Maybe people come here to drown their sorrows." She turned to head back towards her tower. "Yes the she is a regular as most people in the village are. And we will know in a few weeks if all things went well. So is there anything in particular that you would enjoy seeing today. I would be glad to take you to things that may interest you."

Kartik seemed pleased to help in the little ways that he could, taking the basket with care and pride as his fingers gripped the handle and he kept a careful eye on it, and on his gentle hostess. Brows perked up as he heard how she spoke, "They come here to drown their sorrows? And they come here to heal. Are you also able to soothe souls?" He wasn't sure about what she meant. He thought it strangle that the villagers would speak to her about their worries if they feared or hated her so. Upon hearing that the village regularly came to her, the kistune considered the fact that anything was possible. Ears flicked at her inquiry, and Kartik stared up at the sky. "I would like to learn the layout of the land and study the people here. Your culture, from what little I have already seen is so different from my own." A smile eased its way on his face. "It seems very nice so far, despite their flaws." He obviously didn't care for how they treated Jerikoda.

Jerikoda gave a one sided shrug. Her dislocated arm though mostly fixing was still a bit weak. "I try what I can. Though I do not know how much soothing I can provide. Some people do not wish to be healed." She moved to open the door to the tower, "After hanging these to dry we can head out to the town. If you want to have a more free view of the city I can find you someone to help show you the people without my presence making things a bit more difficult." She held the door for him. "I don't some younger people who I am sure would love to show a handsome foreigner around they can show you the land and the culture. They can return you to me if you wish to stay another night." She gave him a gentle smile. "But this time without any more injuries."

"Do you not wish to show me around yourself?" He was not going to force her to do something she didn't wish to do. The kitsune male stopped and stared at her for a moment holding the door. His eyes clouded over with a quick flash but were lost when he closed them and smiled brightly, bowing his head to her for holding the door open. He passed by her before turning and putting his arm up to hold the other side of the door to allow her to come through next. "I prefer to have someone I am more familiar with to show me around, no matter what others may think. However, if you don't want to be my guide, I will wander around myself."

Jerikoda gave a bow of her head in thanks for holding the door. She went in and moved to the kitchen counter. "You can place the herbs on the counter please." She took a slow breath and shook her head, "I do not mind showing you around. I do enjoy your company. It is nice, and hopefully tonight it shall be less painful. I just thought that you might enjoy a less...jaded view. After I hang these up we can head on out to town and we can do some wandering as well as showing and visiting." She said evenly. She had seen the briefest glaze to his eyes but she thought it best not to press of it. He did not like to talk much about his home land though he had offered to show her around it. And from what she gathered he was nobility and she did not know how much it would be a hindrance to have to deal with her in his lands. He was noting if not polite though.

Kartik did as he was told. He looked at her with a cheerful grin. "Miss Jerikoda, even though we haven't known each other long I would like to think of you as my newest friend. Who else would I want to show me around than a friend?" It was true, he was becoming more and more fond of her even if she was a little quiet. Who was he to judge though? His tails flicked before he stared up at the ceiling with thought. "So we must check in on your patients before we go for the tour correct? Is there anything else we should do today? Do you have any other errands to run?" He looked back at her curiously.
