bump_whitey2 i just wish BET had more variety in its shows BET and MTV are basically the same damn channel - every show on BET has an equivalent on MTV, to the point where i swear it's the same people running it. and wouldn't you know it? they are run by the same people - Viacom. BET has been de-integrated from MTV Networks, but they're still owned and run by the same folks.

BET's programmers, (or whomever is in charge of shows), don't want to seem second rate. They want to give black folks everything that's on MTV. It might be on purpose, but MTV seems to be geared toward kids 13-20 primarily. And BET seems to have programs for a broader age range; after all, MTV has plenty of other competition trying to get the attention of it's target audience, whereas BET has little competition when it comes to "Black Entertainment."]

there is a new channel on the horizon, which i plan to avoid if at all possible. okay, i might check it out for a week or so to see what they put out there. it's supposed to be aimed at young Black men (ages 18-30), so i am expecting to see more half-naked women shaking more body parts than usual (if that's even possible eek ), but who knows - they might have something interesting.
if i remember the name, and you don't know it, i'll either post it or PM you.

[Please post it here; I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't know about it. xp I don't think we need a channel devoted to Black men exclusively; I'm just now getting into Spike TV (mmm...UFC...men who are hot like wrestlers, yet no where near as fake). Have you seen BET Uncut?? gonk ]

now, i know that there's going to be an On Demand channel backed by Russell Simmons, so i hope that one will have some class..
i'll keep checking for the other one.

found one that i'd forgotten about. it's nationwide, but not on every cable network. it's one of those 'ask your local service provider' channels.

[Ah, I knew about this one; we have Comcast. 3nodding It's TV One, like Radio One, the black-owned radio station thingy (I think sweatdrop ). I haven't had much time to watch TV One, but now that I look at what shows they are supposed to have, it seems interesting. wink ]

bump_whitey2 it's not saying that but alot of the programming is geared toward white teens i mean it's better than it used to be but how many black people do you know that watch viva la bam I don't see MTV as a white bet. Infact, MTV seems like it is mostly over run by rap. And some of it is emo and punk rock crap, but mostly rap. I'd say it's geared towards whites and blacks about half half.
