Sofa and Recliner

User Image User Image

On one of his garbage hunts in Gaia, Fango came across a sofa and recliner set near his home in Barton Town. He took the used furniture there, fixed them, and brought them to his apartment at the Home. He keeps the sofa against a wall, with the recliner next to it, facing the front door.

Flatscreen TV

User Image

On the same night he found the recliner and sofa set, he also found a broken flatscreen TV in one of the richer neighborhoods. He also took this to his home in Barton, fixed it, and brought it to his apartment in the Home. The TV is kept mounted on the wall, across from the sofa.

Houseplant

User Image

A plant Fango found on his way to the Home. He keeps it next to the front door on the inside of his apartment.

Electric Fireplace

User Image

An electric fireplace Fango was given by an angry housewife. Apparently, her husband bought it, and she found out he was cheating on her. Oh well. Free stuff's free stuff. The Electric Fireplace is kept on the same wall as the TV, but under it, across from the sofa.

A china cabinet Fango found for a really cheap price in a thrift store in Aekea. It looks older than he is. It might be antique. He keeps it in the kitchenette, across from the counter.

Bed

User Image

A fancy-pants bed Fango found dismembered in a dumpster in Durem. He brought it to the home, gave the frame a new paint job, and rebuilt it in his bedroom. The bed that came with the room was given to a friend of his. It is in the center of the room with the headboard against a blank wall.

Journals

User Image

Journals Fango bought cheap in Barton Town. He keeps his store records in the red one, uses the green one as his journal, and the blue one as his expenses book. These are kept in the nightstand drawer.

Potions Book, History of Magic Book, Book of Beasts; Magical, Non-magical, Evil and Benign.

A set of books given to Fango by an old wizard friend who lives, well, he doesn't know where anymore. These were a christmas gift from him. They are kept in the part of his nightstand reserved for the books.

Lava Lamp

A lava lamp kept from when Fango lived with his parents in Spain and when he lived in his now deceased sister's home in the States. It is an extremely old one. He bought it when it first came out in the sixties. It is on top of his nightstand.

[------------[Catherine Moonfire]------------]

Very sweet, but a bit worrysome and preoccupied. Tends to flip through random books when searching for something? I would recommend a nice, hot tea and a soak in a warm bath for her. She looks like she needs it.

[------------[Garreth Moonfire]------------]

The sweetest thing I've ever encountered. He needs to learn how to whisper, however. Surprises can't be kept secret if the person you're keeping it from can hear it. Very polite and courteous. Likes the berry candies my dear friend Rosealin Elric makes. I must keep it in mind to ask her for more. I wonder if Garreth likes writing?

[------------[Aphrodite Moonfire]------------]

Very adorable! Says that I have pretty hair like a girl's Can't say she's not right. Very small creature, and easy to lose sight of. The eldest of Catherine's three, I imagine. She seems to be very artsy. Likes the rose nectar candies Rosealin makes. I must ask Rosealin if she can shrink an art set for her.

[------------[Nariko Moonfire]------------]

The middle of Catherine's three. She's still an infant, albeit an interesting one. She has a penchant for cold things, and making noise, like all small children do. She likes the enchanted sweet ice candies Rosealin makes. I must bring more of Rosealin's Enchanted Ices for her. She seemed to like them.

+ Thursday, December 01, 2005 - Fango gets acquainted with his living area.+

Fango carried his small box of things up to the front of the church-like adoption home. Inside the beat up old box was an Army Helmet, a Longsleeve Red Flannel Shirt, Red Swimtrunks, a pair of olive shaded sandals, a ghost sheet costume he'd worn for halloween, an old white shirt with the sleeves torn off, and a lamp he'd bought at a garage sale. His meager belongings barely filled the small box. On his back, he wore a Hard Shell Pack with the spikes out to discourage thieves. Inside the pack was various small belongings that really shouldn't fit in with the rest of the things in the box. He wore his only pair of pants and his only socks and shoes. He'd recieved a letter a few days back, telling him that he had been accepted as handyman and night time babysitter here. He smiled to himself as he looked the place over. He could already see that the outside needed a fresh coat of paint. The powder blue looked obviously faded. Perhaps from a deeper shade. Maybe a sky blue. But, he liked the color. He just might even paint it in a fresh coat of powder blue, just to keep that nice, dreamy look to it. He shifted the box's weight to his hip and proceeded through the white steel fence, pushing open the small door, then closing it behind himself. He noticed that the hinges moved effortlessly, obviously kept very nicely oiled. He fumbled in his pocket and pulled out the ring of keys, well, key, that Mr. Salem had sent him. The letter he'd recieved had explained that the key was magical, and would open any door in the house. Of course, Fango thought to himself, I will always knock before entering any room that I'm not allowed in.
Knowing already that his apartment was on the second floor, he proceeded into the house, found the stairs and proceeded upstairs. Of course, Mr. Salem had explained to him how the house worked, and that his apartment number was number 207. He easily found his room and opened the door into the living room. It was a sparse room, everything clean and white. New, really. He looked to his left and saw the kitchenette. He wouldn't really be needing the kitchen, as he didn't partake of mortal foods, but smiled nonetheless. He could store fresh bloodpacks in that fridge.
He went to the first door he saw, which was a few feet from the front door and opened it. The door swung open, and he flicked the lights on to reveal a spartan bedroom. It was very simple, with only one bed and some blankets and a pillow laid out on it. He set his box down on the floor in front of the bed, crossed the room the the door on the next wall and opened it. The bathroom. Good, he thought to himself, it looks like I won't have to bathe in the ocean tonight. His home in Barton town was lacking in plumbing, and, since he didn't process waste like a human (because he wasn't one, at least not anymore.), he did find himself in a bit of a predicament, as he liked to have showers and baths. He went back into the bedroom and began unpacking his minimal belongings, putting his clothes in the small dresser that was already inside the room, and setting his lamp on the small nightstand that the home provided. He opened up his Hard Shell Pack and removed his wallet, his keys to his home in Barton Town, a small sewing kit, a small enchanted tool box he'd recieved as a gift for defending a small old wizard, a small first aid kit he'd purchased cheap at a magical dollar store (for the children, should anything happen), several unfueled Zippo lighters, a small PDA, a cell phone and charger, a lockpick set, a car opening kit, and a laptop computer. He placed these small belongings in the top drawer of the small nightand, but put the tool box in the space of the nightstand that was intended for books, along with the laptop.
He'd decided before he left home that he would spend every other week here. He wasn't too far from home, and he wasn't too far from his store, so he really wanted to get to know this place better. After unpacking, he put the Hard Shell Pack inside the small box and opened the second door inside the bedroom, which he knew already to be the closet, set the box inside, and closed it. He'd noticed, while being inside the apartment that it had no windows. "Mr. Salem must have set this up for me." he said to himself. He looked down at his wrist, where a beat up old watch was on his wrist and noted the time. Oop. In all of his exploration, he'd forgotten to realize that sunrise was not too far off. Stripping down to his skivvies, he rolled himself up in the covers and rested until the next night.

[------------[Oh, fer the lovva... do I have to?]------------]

+ Tuesday, January 17, 2006 - Fango clears out the Christmas stuff, and remembers things long since buried.+

Fango set his hands on his hips and looked about his little apartment. He'd been living here about a month, and it seemed to be coming together nicely. Not that he could say the same for his little house in Barton, he was still lacking furnishings and comforts there, but it couldn't be helped. He simply didn't have enough money yet. Fango sighed heavily and fiddled with the strings of his green yoga pants. He was hesitating and he knew it.
With another heavy sigh, Fango pulled a clear plastic box out of a bag from a store in Barton. No use in putting it off any longer, I'll have to do it eventually, he thought to himself. Setting the box down in front of the dying pine Christmas tree, he began pulling off plastic Christmas ornaments and putting them inside the box. Truth be told, he hated dismantling Christmas trees. It always brought up old memories he'd thought he'd squelched. Silently, Fango pulled each ornament off, freed it of its hook, put the hook in a spearate LocZip bag, and tossed the ornament into the plastic storage box.
Fango stopped and held an ornament in his hand, memories springing up in his head. The first time he'd ever had to do this, his father barked orders at him, calling him useless, telling him that if he found a single broken ornament; he'd skin the flesh from his back personally.
Giving a slight sniffle, Fango shook his head of the memory, chucked the ornament into the box and continued his work. He pricked his hands and fingers on the tree's needles, but he didn't mind. The small pains were welcomed. They kept his mind from wandering back to his childhood, or lack thereof, with his abusive parents in Spain. Finishing up with the tree, Fango went to his bedroom door and pulled the wreath off, putting it in a plastic wreath storage box he'd also bought in Barton. Snapping both lids to each box closed, he put the wreath box on top of the ornament box, pushed them aside and began removing the tree fron its base. Once removed, he carried the tree all the way outside the gate of Salem's Home and into a small thicket of trees, leaving it there so it'll provide a home for small creatures. Once back inside his apartment, Fango washed and disinfected the plastic tree base, put it on top of the two storage boxes and hauled them into his room, setting them on the shelf inside his mostly barren closet, all the way in the corner, so he couldn't see them when he opened the closet.
Done with his chore, Fango stripped in his room, put the pants and his underwear in his dirty laundry basket, and sauntered, naked, across his apartment to his bathroom, where he took a long, hot shower, his blood tinted tears mingling with the hot water until his eyes held no more tears. Finished with the shower, he dried himself off, blow dried his hair and walked naked back to his bedroom, where he flopped onto his bed, taquitoed himself in the covers and rested until the next night. Hopefully, a day of sleep would clear his cluttered head and everything will be okay. Holiday traditions could be so depressing.

[------------[It's just lonliness, right?]------------]

Fango sighed, looking up at the stars. It had been so long since he last had some... well, intimate company. In fact, he hadn't had a boyfriend in over 20 years. Truth be told, his last boyfriend had been a girl, and she was the reason he could no longer enjoy the sun on his face. He let out a little growl to himself and pressed his forehead against the cool glass of his bathroom window. He glared up at the moon. No, estupido. Do not be angry at the moon. It is not the moon's fault that you have not had sexual relations ever in your entire life. Sighing heavily, he laid down on his bed and taquitoed himself in his duvet. It had been so long since he'd felt warm arms to embrace him. Perhaps, one day, he'd feel them again.

And hopefully, they would be the arms of a sexy military man... Fango squealed like a giddy schoolgirl at the prospect, and rested, burrowed in his dark blue duvet.
