The ball was starting up cosily by now, things were going quite alright...
And then, the duke made a short announcement, calling four, five people out of the versatile group and requesting them to come out into the entrance hall and go into the (off limits!) left wing.
The staff and guards would let them pass, lead them to a cosy small assembly of couches and chairs out in the hallway, where they would wait.
Dreamer (Tnau) Ella (with/without Faolan) (Redbud) Eli (umbra) Dr. Cromwell (Ruri) Verdant (?) (LLWinter)
Miss Eversong was called in first, and was asked to enter the Duke's business room. Please come in, close the door and have a seat in front of the desk.
Now tell me, tell me, what is it you seek?

She'd been herded to the side by a random staff member before she could even enter the main area, she thought it was just a little off. Though, Dreamer would explain herself and the whole office affair if that's what she was being pulled aside for. Her actions that day did kind of need an explanation. No one had called her, and she never suspected she'd get a spark; those things were the last thing on her mind right now. Thankfully, she wasn't the only one in the hallway they'd been placed in. There was the girl she'd seen with Faolin, probably his girlfriend, she saw the look he gave her and that was a look of pure adoration. Then a man whom didn't look all to bad, then a long white hair man that she didn't find overly fascinating and finally another man. I hope we aren't going to be staying here for a long time... She was really looking to socializing, meeting a few protos and having fun avoiding Trystan. And then her name was called and Dreamer snapped out of her haze, focusing on where the voice had come from. Standing up and passing her hands over any wrinkles on her dress before going through the doorway and into the room, making sure to close the door before she went to seat herself. Well dressed up like this I feel a little silly.
Sitting down, she shifted herself until she got comfortable, hands together on her lap. Dreamer was actually wondering what she should call him, Banning or duke or maybe a mix of both. She decided to use all three just to be sure. " Duke Banning, I would just like to mention that the other day. At the office, I only intruded because the door was left open and well I took a mall look around. " Oh and sat on your couch, left my shoes lying around and read some fliers. " If it was a bother I do apologize. " But then it actually hit her, Banning + party + Essentic owners... Had she been selected to get one? Dreamer blinked a few times, a puzzled look on her face. " I'm not here for that am I? I'm here because of the service spark... " Ding, ding, ding we have a winner! Dreamer leaned back, well was this what Faolan had predicted? She sure hope so. " I guess there couldn't be a better timing with George sick and my little skills in managing. "

... oho, lovely plappermouth, she turned out to be.
Banning let her talk and get acclimatised to the room, observing her calmly, nodding whenever she hit a vital point. So nice of you to get to the point right away, milady.
"We know of you, miss Eversong, and since your visit we have done our research on your current situation. Indeed, not the most practical of circumstances. You are quite right, you are here because we are offering you our services, a potential solution to your 'problem'. A service Spark would be the most suited for the Purpose you appear to already have in mind." Perfect, perfect.
"Do you think you are ready to make a contract with us? No legal ties, merely a token of trust to o both ways. You promise us to honour some discretion concerning our business and the deal you are about to make with us, and we will offer you any assistance you may require in the future."

A very good solution to my problem indeed. Sparks were, or so she knew from what she'd learned, unfailing. With all the imbecile secretaries, and assistants out there that she'd hire to help her manage, this one would be the most successful. She was thrilled with the idea that she wouldn't be needing to hire extra help and George wouldn't be so stressed and get sick trying to keep up with her life. Finally. To his next question she nodded, step one into illegal doings and two steps down from being above doing illegal things. Oh well. " Of course, where do I sign? " She wanted to get this over with as soon as possible, after all she had people to meet and greet. Keeping the spark a secret wouldn't be hard, she already kept many things secret already and just another wouldn't be a problem. Unless of course it was the size of whatever that thing that had been sitting on Trystans shoulder or the flower like proto, that would be just a little harder to conceal and, she really didn't want to leave it home alone.

"I assume you have given this some thought, you cannot get rid of an Essentic once you grow weary of it, without..."
Killing it, yes. You can't just 'hand them over' to someone, bonds are forever. Banning didn't say that out loud though, sidestepping the issue. Keep in mind he was a man who'd been in his early twenties during the Hunt, no doubt he'd seen unpleasant things happen.
"I can see you have made up your mind, and I doubt you would have kept contact if you hadn't. Here you go, milady." He'd smoothly retrieved a piece of parchment from inside his desk during his slight pause, and laid it out to her.
Reminding her of the fact this contract, so ornately calligraphed and neatly written out, was of no legal worth and served only as a token of mutual trust, he handed her one of his pens to sign with. No fine print, no strange rules or agreements.
Leaving her with the contract, so she could read it over and sign if she considered it trustworthy, the duke then went through a hidden doorway, disguised as a wall panel, into one of the manor's secret rooms. When he emerged less than a minute later, he was carrying her Spark-to-be, a Servicer.
It sat in what looked like an old lamp, those hexa-panelled ones. The dark glass panes on this one were tinted a warm burgundy purple, and the Essence's glow only shone through faintly, a promise of light within. Banning held it by the dark metal ring that had once served to hang it into a hook, and set it down before Dreamer, clicking open a small, inconpsicuous lock and opening one of the panels. Inside, the Spark sat half-dormant on a cosy velvet cushion, the green ethereal Essence slowly moving like a luscious, hazy dancer. Small flickers of gold shone in the deep royal purple of the rock.
"This will be your Spark. A Servicer of highest quality, I assure you. It is yours to imbue it with its Purpose. Take it in your hand, open up to it, and let it know what you require of it..." Banning explained to Dreamer, in a placid tone. Don't be wary.

Dreamer nodded, she knew all about how to get ride of one. Would she even think about doing it? No. Her family could not find out about it either, they'd murder if they even knew she was talking to someone who wanted to bring them back; George and herself would be the only one's knowing. Well, not including the other spark owners and owner less people at the ball. She signed her name in a fluid manner, not even needing to read over the content. This was illegal, it's not like he could take her to court about anything pertaining to the spark. She hadn't even noticed him leave until he'd brought back...Uhm what exactly was that? Though once the spark was revealed Dreamer scooted closer to get a better look at it. " Looks like it has horns. " She murmured softly, then upon closer inspection there seemed to be ghost like hands reaching out to her, though they couldn't go very far. Dreamer opened her mouth to comment but closed it promptly, no use in asking Banning. She's figure out the answer's herself by experimenting. Gently she used both hands to lift it out of the box like contraption and cup it in her hands, she brought it closer to her as if to bring it closer to her heart.
The shaking green ghostly hands and grown and came to rest on her shoulders in a supporting manner, a sense of relaxation came over Dreamer, as if all the past few weeks of worries were being washed away and the spark was taking it into it's own hands to help her; to reassure her. A soft yet firm voice rang out. Purpose. It purred gently, and Dreamer closed her eyes, a lazy smile forming on her lips. Mmmm, managing aid. You will help me manage the many sides of my life, I'm not very good with that actually. And then, wanting to prove herself, she opened her mind and went over the previous weeks, everything that had happened to her. The spark warmed in her hands, and Dreamer opened her eyes. The sparks hands had retracted. Purpose approved. It continued to purr, and Dreamer got up, went over to banning and hugged him with one arm before quietly leaving his office. Things were going to be looking up. She just knew.

"... if you'd be so kind to request miss Sanders inside...?"
Err. yeah. Whoop-dee-doo... Thank ye gods Jonathan wasn't around to comment on this. The poor man had no idea how to react on that sign of gratitude? Affection? Oh well. Good luck with your Spark, milady Eversong, good luck.
Phew. One down, four to go.
