I'm about to set up a snail tank (Pond snails) in a pickle jar. I forgot to look at how much stuff it could hold, but i would guess it could hold 2 cups of water.
But, Basically I'm going to use the last of my baby java ferns and java moss and gravel. :3 It should be awesome I might make it with sand. I'm not sure Yet
THEN. I'm thinking about getting a new betta. It would be in a 2 gallon tank with filter and stuffs.

Just a heads up...I don't know if this is a common problem, or just something freaky that happened to me, but I had a tank failure and had to keep a snail in a little critter keeper for a while. It did not work out well at ALL. The snail somehow filled the small container with it's slime! It was amazing (and disgusting) It STANK. I kept changing the water and he kept making more slime. Ughh...one day the water actually looked like clear, soft set jell-o. It was horrible. I don't suggest it.

bdon, a smirnoff glass is MUCH too small for a betta. This thread was about pond snail. Pond snails are small and hard to kill, they can live in a pickle jar. Fish should be in tanks, no matter how "disposable" you consider them.

bdon21_21 lol why after everything i say i get crticised... w.e im not going to argue. well if you say something wrong or inhumane to a fish in a guild about fish then chances are you will be criticised not to mention no one is trying to start an argument, vanilla just stated that bettas need more room that what you were going to do, your more than welcome to discuss it
