Hello, Psychics! Azana Brown here, and this is the obligatory rules thread for the guild. I have seen way too many guilds fall apart through internal strife, and usually a simple set of rules can avoid that. So, here goes!

Rule #1: BE HONEST. Seriously, we don't need pranks like "OMG a demon's gonna eat my face off!" to get people all worried, nor do we need people claiming to channel archangels when they really have no idea what they're doing. If you don't know an answer, say so. If you want us to help you with a problem, we'll need to know, in detail and with full honesty, what's going on. (If, however, you're doing a fake thread as a sort of comedic take on something, PLEASE include a disclaimer at the end of the post.)

Rule #2: BE RESPECTFUL. There will be things in this guild you disagree with. This is inevitable. But to antagonize and flame others about it doesn't get us anywhere. It is this exact behavior that breeds more fluff, since they are likely to turn away and inward. Sometimes it's a fine line between informing and ripping into them, so be careful. On the other side of this, don't take criticism of your position as a personal attack. We're all looking for the same thing, and two heads are better than one.

Rule #3: READ THE MANUAL. This sounds silly, yes, but we do have the FAQs and Tutorials subforum to help with very general problems. Don't know what a term means? Look it up. Wanting to know more in general about a field? We'll have links there giving you what you need to know. Separate threads should be used for discussion of psychic theory and practice, or for very specific questions.

Rule #4: KEEP IT PSYCHIC. With the exception of the Psychic Chatterbox, you should keep your topics related to psychism. If your interest is branching into magic or otherwise, we have sister guilds that can provide much better for this sort of education. I understand that there can be a lot of overlap, so this rule is only towards the most extreme cases.

Rule #5: USE THE SUBFORUMS. A lot of guilds have subforums that don't get used since most people don't bother to check them. We have guild funds and subforums for a REASON. They help streamline the guild and make sure that people can find what they want to talk about quickly. So, post in them, check them now and then, and contribute to the discussion and organization of the guild!

Rule #6: LISTEN to the MODS. They're here to keep things running smoothly, so don't gripe if they tell you a post would be better elsewhere. They have the guild's best interests at heart.

Rule #7: AVOID DRAMA. Conflict will happen; I'm a realistic person. Let's not have some argument between two people become civil war in the guild. If you have a problem with a person, PM me, and I will be happy to mediate the problem until we reach a workable conclusion.

Rule #8: TYPE CLEARLY. It's very hard to understand a question when you can't read it. Use readable colors, punctuation, and reasonable spelling (if you don't know how to spell a word, at least give it a good shot). Some chat speak is tolerated, but if I can't read your post, I will edit it for clarification.

Rule #9: HAVE FUN. This is, by far, the most important. If you don't enjoy what you do, what's the point?

Rule #10: All donations to the guild should go to Small Medium at Large, our lovely guild mule. We currently have enough in our coffers to afford any subforums we want; there's no real point in giving us more there that we could instead use for events and such.

Rule #11: POST STUFF. What's the point of joining a guild if all you do is sit and watch? A guild is only as good as its discussion, so feel free to post threads, ask questions, take chances, make mistakes, and get messy?
