Now either sign up and enjoy yourselves, or take a chill pill. o_o It's a fun game. Enough technicalities, on with the fun.QFE CHILLAX YO It's really just a damn DS game Besides, it's gonna take a LONG a** TIME for people to complete the National Dex. That said, I'm totally in. I really doubt I'd win, but it'd be cool sharing my POKEMANS with you guys.

Sweeet.
I just got my National Dex and was getting bored of Pokemon cause I got myself a crappy BoltBeam Frosslass.
Seriously, how the ******** was I supposed to know that Frosslass had a Base of 70 in Special Attack? I mean, SERIOUSLY? STAB Ice Beam and Shadow Ball is good and all, but 70 Base for Special Attack without Calm Mind or Nasty Plot is kinda pathetic.
Which is a shame, since Frosslass is a ******** sweet Pokemon disregarding stats.
What pains me is that I can't get a Porygon-Z (my originally intended BoltBeamer), since I don't trade too often. XP
Also, according to a post in GameFAQs...
"The hard numbers:
492 total Pokemon 48 that require importing from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen 1 Regigigas that requires the Regi Trio 36 Pokemon that require the insertion of Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen 3 Pokemon that evolve from some of the above (Gliscor, Electrivire, Magmortar) 20 Pokemon exclusive to Pearl 1 Pokemon that requires interacting with another cart (Spiritomb) 5 Event Pokemon (Manaphy, Phione, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus) 14 other Pokemon that evolve through trading
Leaving 364 Pokemon that can be obtained in one cart alone."
Then...
"Knock off the 2 starters (and their evolutions) that you cannot get without trading to leave you with 358 Pokemon in one cart."
Then...
"There's 493 Pokemon counting Arceus, not 492..."
So...
"359 it is, then >_>"
So yeah.

Also, I kinda regret not having Pearl and getting Diamond instead. Diamond means no Mismagius, which means no Pain Split, which means a crappy Dusknoir. >_>

But I don't. I'd see a boltbeam Frostlass and go "Oh Cool, a Frostlass that knows boltbeam!" and not think "70 etc etc etc" ._____.
And I play Diamond, but I'll probably play Platinum for this just cause. Platinum any better than Pearl?

On second browse, now that Pixie's bolded the questions, I'm disqualified because I don't have a retail copy.
Interest lost.

It's a problem when a STAB Ice Beam can't kill a Pokemon of the same level with a weakness to Ice. Hell, my Frosslass had around 27 Special Attack IV and 252 EVs in Special Attack.
GOD I ******** HATE THAT ******** LOW BASE.
Then again, Pokemon D/P/PT is crippled by the fact that you're limited to 150 Pokemon before the National Dex. In R/B/G/Y it was fine (somewhat, though the Ghost type was pretty much messed up and Bug-type attacks were basically useless) because of the lower number of types, but trying to fit in 150 with the current generation is kinda messed up.
You know things are bad when the Fire-using member of the Elite 4 has only 2 Fire Pokemon, which are also the ONLY 2 Fire Pokemon before National Dex.
Infernape is pretty much the way to go for starter Pokemon, though Empoleon is probably the coolest thing since frozen sliced bread.

D: Seriously. /shudder It made me wish didn't pick piplup (if that's not the english name I don't know my mind's shot on starters since hirun started reffering to them in japanese) cause Infernape is pretty awesome with the whole Son Goku thing going on. (Monkey maaagic~)
Only two?... That's really sad. Which are they? My mind thinks of Torkoal as one, right?

Nope.
Ponyta / Rapidash and the Infernape line.
Too much goddamn water Pokemon around. >_>
I got so sick of using the same Pokemon over and over, and decided to go a new direction, but found that hard to do.
My first time, I went Empoleon, Staraptor, Luxray and Garchomp... I think? This time, I went with Infernape, Staraptor, Gyarados, Bronzong and two HM Slaves (who also served as meat shields).
The thing is, Pokemon tries to make you go a certain way by limiting your choices. They add a new ******** Flying and Electric Pokemon everytime, which don't really help. Luxray is kinda mediocre. Staraptor... well, I think it's pretty decent (mainly due to Close Combat and Brave Bird) but it does suffer from some stuff.
