So I've had a job as soon as i turned 16, at one point i even had two jobs. I sometimes do random nights of waitressing as well.
In September i'm off to uni, so i'm all WOOOO NO JOB! I get to have free time. And my mum is down my back saying i have to get a job! I'm going to in the second year. And i've saved up money in the last year or so so i don't have to get a job this year. But still she is forcing me to get a job! Means i won't be able to come home much etc. And means im going to have a job for the rest of my life. I just want a year out crying

i'm waiting to hear if i got into uni or not. if i do, i'll be on the other side of the country and won't be able to come home except over long vac. i'm going to see how well i can survive on just my student loan for the first semester, after that i may have to get a job. i just don't know what's available. the university pretty much IS the town and i can't waitress (health reasons).

it is really unfair of your mom to force you to take a job if you can get by without one, but at the same time it'll look good on your resume/CV if you can say you worked through uni and still got good marks.
