This is about basslines in rap songs, but not about the songs themselves. My question is, has your band ever re-done a rap song? My instructors band re-did baby got back. I loved it. In my band we're all gunna pick a song to redo on the album, we're a punk band and we're gunna add a punk twist to it. We already got a beatles song from my lead guitarist, I've been thinking about a good rap song to try out.

SO my main question is:

Any ideas on a rap song I should pick to redo? Maybe give our listeners a bit of a taste of the rap, help ease the borderline between them, you know.

No offense, but thats pretty much the worst idea I've ever heard, that and someone making a tazer out of electrodes and a potato.

Basslines in rap songs (7 out of 10 times) are generated and NOT actually from a bass.

but whatever.

I heard a band do "Heya" or how ever you spell it.

first off your lying you meant to be mean other wise you wouldnt have added the taser comment. Second off just because they are generated does not mean that you cant play them on a bass. And it wasnt about just basslines, it was about re-doing rap songs, that was kinda rude of you.
