But I am asking anyway.

My guildies often ask me to tank when I'm on my DK (lvl 69 for ref) so I'm looking for the best way to increase my stamina. I've only been playing as a DK for about a month and tbh I am a complete noob at knowing the best talents and skills for my toon.

Aside from obvious equips, what would be the best way to add to my stamina?

until level 80 you shouldn't bother too much in acquiring tanking gear. As a deathknight your frost pressence should be enough to hold aggro and have the damage reduction. Aside from stamina you should look at defense rating and parry rating (although that last one is not that common).
At level 80, Frost is the tank specc. you should try to get two 1hand weapons with tanking stats and equipment with defense, parry, and dodge rating.

i was under the impression that using 2 1 handers as a dk tank, especially when starting out, can be very dangerous when not expertise capped because of the increased chance of getting parried because you're hitting so much more.

also, any tree can tank just like any tree can dps, you just have to know what skills to use and stay in frost presence when tanking.

This is incorrect. Frost is the undergeared tanking spec however in my experiences I believe that blood outpaces it by leaps and bounds even as an undergeared tank.

For tanking you will want to go 5/5/5 + talents in whatever tree you choose. Blood is based off high stamina and survivability. Frost is mediocre for aoeing but you gain 3% avoidance. Unholy is good for aoeing but you have a little bit more to pay attention to (keeping bone armor up).

Oh, and always use a 2 hander once you get rune of stoneskin gargoyle.

To think that life is always the same...
Agreed. The stat bonus may be kickass, but the fact that parryhaste can damn near make you drop quick, I would not suggest it unless your way overgeared for the instance and your healer is bored out of their skull...IE....10/25man geared DK in MC...

...is the same as forgetting destiny always changes.

unless you get outland gear at lv 69 you might as well drop the subject of tanking.

i'd go with 2 hand swords with stam then stam ench them. and focus more on stam gear you get from quests. pvp. and drops.

and try to keep your defense rating from 350-400. it's also needed.

P.S 500+ for heroics
