I'm on the pill, and me and my boyfriend always use condoms (but they usually break) It is really important for me to find out right away if I'm pregnant because I'm on Lithium. I've been having symptoms and I'm not sure if it's just in my head or maybe I'm just sick. Do you think it would even be possible for me to be pregnant? Should I wait till my placebos and see if my period comes?

If you need to know right away I would go straight to the doctor. A blood test can tell much earlier then a urine test.

And your condoms really shouldn't be breaking all that often. I've had one break and that was only because we weren't using enough lubricant. You may need more lubricant or a larger size to stop that.

Look into a different brand of condoms too.

I agree with both of the above people. We can't tell you whether or not you're pregnant - you need to see a medical professional as soon as possible.

You might also want to consider switching brands of condoms, types (lubricated vs unlubricated, etc), or sizes. They really shouldn't be breaking very often, if at all.

No, they should definitely not be breaking as often as they are. I also think that you need to make sure your general physician knows that you are on birth control and use it as birth control (not as a cycle regulator, for example). Also so that he can make sure medications prescribed by specialists or other doctors doesn't react with the birth control and make it cease working.
I also highly, highly suggest the continual use of protection even with the pill.

If you really do think you're pregnant, just sneak off to a store and buy a home pregnancy test. It doesn't have to be name brand, but if you can grab a box with two kits in it, do it. Better to be safe than sorry.
And personally I would keep this fear to myself until I took the test and knew for sure. No use freaking out your boyfriend, friends or family if it is a false alarm.

Thanks all. It's the first day of my placebos and no sign aunt flow. I'll be able to get to the store tonight, should I take a test today? or wait a few more days?

Go see a doctor/gyno/health practicioner, they'd be able to give you a better answer than us.

I've been having sex with only using the pill for about two years.

I didn't like condoms, and they were a pain in the a** for me. SO my partner and I have decided to use only birth control pills as our method of contraception. So far, I have NOT gotten pregnant. So, even in the event that your condoms keep breaking and you've been taking pills properly, you have a high chance of NOT being pregnant.

Also, a word about birth control pills: It takes you about two or three (up to four) days off your pills for the hormones to go down so your body can start your period. If you've been extra stressed or eating too much or exercizing too much, it can delay your period.

So, there, just thought I'd clear some stuff up, considering that I've been taking pills for awhile and know how they tend to work.
